Chapter 25
Amethyst’s P.O.V
I have been observing Adam, Katie’s Mate, for the past week. Jenna and Liam thought it was a bad idea to take Adam away from Katie, but Amy and Josh agreed with me. They wanted to see Katie suffer, too.
Adam was a pretty good guy. He’s had a few girlfriends, but nothing too serious. He used to be an outgoing, party all the time type of guy until last year when his mother died. Since then he’s been a quiet, introvert type of guy. He liked girls who didn’t act fake or easy. He respects women and is kind towards them. He’s pretty much the perfect Mate, something Katie doesn’t deserve. He has been friends with Katie since he moved here last December. I can see the barely-contained lust and love in Katie’s eyes every time she looked at him. Too bad it’s never going to happen. When I’m done with him, he will never look at any other woman twice. Pretty soon, he’ll be mine.
All I had to do now was wait for the perfect opportunity to attack.

The last few days have been tense. The guest house still wasn’t fixed so we were forced to live with my old Pack. Most of the Crimson Blood Pack knew who I was, but a few didn’t. One of those few is Lucas. He has been too busy working with Liam to notice that his Mate was back. For this, I am very grateful. The last thing I need is for his wolf to try to get me back.
The longer I was here, the angrier and more frustrated I got. And it was all because of my wolf. And her hormones. She kept trying to take control of my body and the constant struggle kept giving me headaches. She was being snippier and b*tchier than usual, and I couldn’t take it anymore. All she did was whine and whimper for him, and I was beginning to lose my mind. I was sure I was going to kill someone when the perfect distraction arose.
I was in History class when the perfect opportunity to get close to Adam just fell into my hands.
“You will each choose a partner and together you have to write a 10 page essay about a topic from the list I just handed out. You have one minute to choose a partner. Go.”
I looked around to see most of the class run towards their friends. Adam was still seating in his seat, looking towards his only two friends in the class who decided to partner up. As luck would have it, none of my friends were in this class. I guess this is a sign from the Goddess that I should continue my plan for revenge. I got off my seat and sauntered over to Adam.
I cleared my throat to get his attention and smirked at the surprised look in his eyes.
“Hey, I’m Myst. Want to be partners?” I asked. He stared at me blankly, making me frown.
“Do you want to or not?” I asked after a few seconds of him gaping. Patience was never my strong point.
“Umm…sure, I guess.” He tried to play to cool, but I could see the surprise in his eyes.
“Good. So what topic do you want.?”
“I-umm- I was thinking we could write about the Roaring 20’s and how they affected modern music” he said, sounding unsure.
“Sure, why not” I said while smiling at him. I heard the bell ring and saw most of my classmates run out the door.
I reached into my purse and took out a pen and post-it note. “Here’s my number. Call me if you need anything.” With that I got up and sauntered out of the room, swaying my hips a little more than usual. Time to make Katie suffer.
Soon, you’ll be ALL mine, Adam.
