Chapter 29

Amethyst’s P.O.V

After spending all morning getting to know Adam a little more, I decided to go back to the Pack house. Thankfully, Adam let me borrow one of his sister’s t-shirts and shorts. They were a little small and tight since she is only thirteen, but nothing I can’t handle.

“I’ll see you tomorrow” I told him as I awkwardly gave him a friendly hug.

“Okay. Bye.” He said softly just as I jumped out of his car and practically ran into the Pack house.

Walking into the kitchen to get a snack I froze when I noticed the whole Pack was eating. They all stopped what they were doing as soon as they saw me and just stared. Before I could leave, a loud, angry voice stopped me dead in my tracks.

“AMETHYST AISLINN KNIGHT! WHERE THE HELL WERE YOU LAST NIGHT?!?” I stared at Jenna with a deer-caught-in-the-headlights look as everyone turned towards us to see what was going on.

“Well-I-I-You see.” I stuttered as I tried to find an answer that wouldn’t end in me getting punished.  Jenna’s form of ‘punishment’ was something I considered torture. First, she would make me go shopping with her for six hours. And all the stores we went too were very, very girly. There wasn’t an article of clothing that didn’t have pink or glitter type of girly. If that wasn’t bad enough, she made we watch a Twilight marathon. She would even stop some of the movies just so she could tell me the pros and cons of being with Edward and Jacob. This usually lasted an hour before she began the movie again. Knowing there was nothing I could say to appease her, I turned to Liam and gave him my puppy dog look. He stared at me for a few seconds before sighing and turning towards Jenna.

“Jenna, sweetheart, maybe you should give Myst the benefit of the doubt. She is responsible and mature. I’m sure she knows what she’s doing.”

“But-but”

“No buts, baby. Just let her live her life and tell her ‘I told you so’ when she messes up”

“Don’t you mean if I mess up?” I asked him.

“No, I meant when you mess up. We all know you couldn’t stay out of trouble if your life depended on it.”

“Hey! That’s not true! Name one time I caused trouble!” I asked him, indignant.

“How about the time you got in a fight at a gas station?”

“That doesn’t count! That guy was asking for it. Besides, he was a pedophile! Touching me like I’m some kind of cheap wh*re! As if!” I scowled angrily as I remembered that creepy perv who couldn’t stop staring at my bits and then ‘accidently’ touched them. For fifteen seconds!  He deserved that broken jaw. And arm. And nose.

“Okay. How about the time you were arrested for driving 70 miles over the speed limit?” he asked me.

“That was 100% Josh’s fault.” I said with a scowl.

“How is it my fault?” Josh asked me with a frown

“You dared me to race you and then left me when the cops showed up!”

“What was I supposed to do?” he asked me exasperated.

“I don’t know, maybe distract the cops…?”

He scoffed. “I already had two strikes. Besides, didn’t you go on a date with one of the cops that arrested you.”

“Yeah, but doesn’t make it okay that left me behind.”

“You dated a cop?” Aiden asked me.

“Only for a week.” I said “Then I got bored.”

I could see people gaping at me, but I ignored them.

“Ughh, I’m tired. I’m going to go sleep. If anyone wakes me up, I will hurt them. Toodles.”

With that I ran to my room and jumped into the bed. I contemplated locking my door, but I knew nobody was stupid enough to wake me up. It was practically a death wish.

Just as I closed my eyes, I heard my door open as a voice that made my Wolf purr filled the room.

“We have to talk, Amethyst”

I really should’ve locked that door.
