~Chapter 15~

Luca’s P.O.V

The days after giving up Amethyst were great.

I was happily dating Katie, the Hunter’s no longer bothered us, and we no longer had a weak ‘wolf’ in our pack.

Then, everything changed.

Rogues started attacking, and our pack was getting out of control. Members would sometimes disobey and go against my father’s will. When I asked him about it he said it was my fault.

FLASHBACK

“How is it my fault, dad?”

“You know Alphas always take over the Pack at the age of 16, with their Luna at their side” he replied, looking annoyed at having to explain something I should’ve already known “you are eighteen, and you still haven’t taken over. You haven’t even found your Mate!”

I was scared. When he wanted to, my father could be truly scary. I wanted to take over, but I couldn’t. I needed a Luna and my Mate was too weak. Katie’s grandfather was third-in-command of the pack her father was from so she would be strong enough to take the role, too bad she said no. She wanted to be marked by her Mate and no one else. I couldn’t mark any other she-wolf  because they are all too weak. They would only cause more damage. I was running out of options and was getting frustrated.

My father wanted me to travel in order to find my mate, but that was impossible. I had given my mate over to Hunters. Thank the Goddess he didn’t know that. He would kill me if he found out that Amethyst was telling the truth. Though she had been weak, she was meant to be Luna. The Goddess had made her just for me, and even my father would never go against her wishes. Everyone knew the consequences of interfering with the Goddess’ plans. It never ended pretty. I was the only one dumb enough to go against her, and now my Pack and family were paying the price.

If I decided to take a strong she-wolf from another pack, it could end badly. Even if she was willing, which most aren’t since they are waiting for their mate, there was a probability of her mate finding out and attacking my Pack. The strong she-wolves are the ones who usually ended up mated to Alphas and Betas though Amethyst was an exception, obviously. If I was lucky enough to find a she-wolf willing to mate me, there is a high chance her Mate  would attack my Pack. I wasn’t willing to take that chance.

“Look son” my father said, bringing out of mu thoughts “your mother and I are getting too old to run the Pack. The older I get, the weaker my commands get. That’s why the Pack members are disobeying me. They need a strong, young Alpha, and it’s not me.”

“I’m sorry” I said feeling guilty, “I’ll try to find my mate and take over the Pack.”

“Good”, he said, giving me a small smile
