"K-Kawaii~Chan, can you please slow down?" I asked my new friend, Kawaii~Chan as she pulled me across the street. She was very strong for a catgirl - a "Meifwa" I would learn later on - like her. Still, I was grateful to her for introducing me to the neighbors, though I can very well do it myself.
We finally reached the house across the street. Kawaii~Chan rang the doorbell and waited, jittering with excitement. Wow. I didn't know how eager she was about new people. I get a warm feeling inside and I can't help but beam.
The door opened. "Hi, Laurance~Kun!", Kawaii~Chan greeted happily. The guy named Laurance looked tired, apparently just got up from a nap, like Katelyn. And zamn, was he good looking. I'm not saying I'm interested, though, it's pretty normal to admire people sometimes.
"Ergh, KC? Why'd you wake me up in the middle of nap time? You know how grumpy I get when I don't get enough sleep..." He notices me and instantly brightens up. Does he straighten up around strangers or something? "Who is this lovely, young lady?" I blush deeply, surprised. That's a first.
"This is Y/N~Sama! She's new in town!", Kawaii~Chan exclaimed. "Are the others home?" She saw my confused expression and quickly explained, "Garroth, Dante, and Travis also live here." Katelyn wasn't kidding when she said that almost all the neighbors here know each other.
"Work. I'm taking the day off.", he replied, winking at me. I raise an eyebrow back. I have this weird feeling he's not just acting nice now because I'm new...
It was silent for a while, and I realized that Laurance and Kawaii~Chan were expecting me to say something, since I haven't really said anything.
Embarrassed, I started to stutter, "O-oh! Um, i-it was very nice to m-meet you Laurance~Kun... I-I MEAN... I d-don't talk like Kawaii~Chan, I talk perfectly normal... Sorry, Kawaii~Chan, I didn't mean to offend you... I guess I'm just a little... uh..."
"Nervous?", Laurance suggested. He chuckled. "Don't worry. Girls do that whenever they meet me."
I turned bright red, and this time I was furious. "I'm not usually this nervous! I'M NEW HERE , LAURANCE, FOR PETE'S SAKE! And you think I'm nervous because you just assume that ALL girls get nervous in front you? How egocentric are you?!"
Laurance and Kawaii~Chan stared at me in bewilderment. Oh my irene, Y/N. Are you trying to make a bad impression here? They must hate me, now...
"S-sorry... that was really rude of me... I should really just leave now... "I mumbled, starting to walk away. Kawaii~Chan grabbed my arm.
"It's okay, Y/N. We all get mad sometimes. ", Kawaii~Chan assured. Huh?
"Yeah. Plus, I kinda started it. I should be the one that's sorry. Friends?", Laurance said.
I looked at both of them. Their eyes were so warm and welcoming. Do I deserve this? Who cares, they're my friends and I'm truly grateful for them. My eyes start to water and I smile.
"Come on, Y/N! There's no time for being sentimental! We have more neighbors to introduce you to!" Kawaii~Chan pulled me away, Laurance followed behind us.
Tears left my eyes anyway. "Thanks, guys...", I said.
