(Still in Y/N's pov...)
I stepped back to take a look of my finished room. I had just finished unpacking the rest of my boxes, which were for my bedroom. I wiped away a drop of sweat that started to run down my face.
Well... time to meet the new neighbors.
Before I went out, I took a quick once-over in the mirror, making sure I look okay enough to make a good first impression.
I have my mom's (hair color), naturally-straggly hair, and my dad's (eye color) eyes. My face is round and childish. I suddenly remember my parents gently pinching my cheek and telling me I was adorable, even when I was in high school. They always mean it good-naturedly, and it made me feel special and loved.
Hot tears started to form under my eyes, and my heart ached for them. Crap, I thought. I'm going out and they're going to see me like this? No way.
I wiped my eyes and tried to make myself look better again. I took a deep breath, hoping it would make my heart ache less. I eventually calm myself and took a step out the door and into the world of a new life and a fresh start.
A/N: So difficult for me to fit this into my daily schedule. Trying my best, though. I really enjoy writing, especially this fanfiction.
