Chapter Fourteen!
"Um, I dont know I'll have to think" Lucy's mom says
"Can we come?" Emma says
"Yeah" Lucy says giving her a kiss
"Sure, I dont mind" Lucy's mom says
"Are you hungry sweetie?" Lucy's mom asks Lucy's dad
"Uh, Yeah" he replies
"What do you want?" Lucy's mom asks
"Whatever you have in the fridge" he says walking to the fridge, The girls go back upstairs and Emma's mom goes in the living room. "I'm sorry" Emma says as she sits on the bed. "It's okay babe" Lucy says smiling. "Okay, good" Emma says laying down on the bed "Good thing its friday" Lucy says as she lays down too. "Why is that?" Emma says "We dont have to do anything no school, no work," Lucy says smiling "Mhm, yeah when do you want to go back?" Emma asks looking at Lucy.
"Uh, I dont really see the need" Lucy says
"Wow, I thought you were a good student who doesnt skip school" Emma says
"Well, you thought wrong" Lucy says smiling
"Well, what about Hanna?" Emma asks
"Hanna" Lucy repeats
"Yeah, your bestfriend" Emma says
"Uh, fine we can go back monday" Lucy says rolling her eyes.
"We havent been in school for a week" Emma says
"So" Lucy says
"Well, call her or something" Emma says giving Lucy a frown.
"Ugh, fine" Lucy says pulling out her phone to dial Hanna's number
Ring,ring... "Hey" Hanna says on the otherline "Hi" Lucy says "Why havent you and Emma been in school? Did you guys run away or something" Hanna says "Um, no we skipped" Lucy says looking at Emma. "YOU WHAT!" Hanna yells "We skipped" Lucy repeats "Why?" Hanna asks. "Because we felt like it" Lucy says "I dont like the way you are acting, does your mom know about this?" Hanna asks.
"Um.no" Lucy says Emma just listens to the conversation "Well, are you going to tell her?" Hanna asks "No, why would I?" Lucy asks. "Why are you acting like this Lucy?" Hanna asks "Like what?" Lucy says looking at Emma... Emma looks confused and concered on what's happening "Skipping school and stuff what's next drugs?" Hanna asks.
"Maybe" Lucy says rolling her eyes "What's going on?" Emma says Lucy ignores her and continues to talk to Hanna. "Wow, I can't believe you what happened to the Lucy I used to know?" Hanna says "Well, I dont know she fell in love and changed I guess" Lucy says staring at Emma. "I'm coming over right NOW!" Hanna says as she hungs up the phone.
"What happened?" Emma asks sitting up
"We got into an agurement and she is coming over now" Lucy says getting up to go to the living room "Why does she know what time it is?" Emma asks. "I'm pretty sure she does" Lucy says opening her bedroom door to walk down stairs. Emma follows her and they enter the living room and sitting on the couch Lucy and Emma stare at the tv until they hear banging on the door. "Man, she is really mad" Emma says "I dont see what's the big deal" Lucy says getting up to open the door. Lucy steps out and on the porch "Well," Hanna says "Uh, what's the promblem with me skipping a week of school? I need some time to get away from everyone, I may seem nice in school and I might be all Rainbows and skittles but that's because I can't stand being there".
Lucy says Hanna just stares into her bestfriends eyes and shakes her head. "It's her isn't it?" Hanna yells "What" Lucy says "Emma, you wouldn't have done all this if it wasnt for HER!" Hanna yells "HOW DARE YOU SAY THAT HANNA" Lucy yells back "Well, your not the person I met years ago," Hanna says. "That was so long ago, give me a break for goodness sakes!" Lucy screams back at Hanna.
So much for a celebration,
"YOU WANT A BREAK? FINE, DO WHAT EVER YOU PLEASE BUT DONT COME TO ME WHEN YOU NEED HELP OR BETTER YET GO AHEAD DO DRUGS AND SKIP SCHOOL EVERYTHING YOU'VE WORKED HARD FOR IS GOING DOWN THE DRAIN!" Hanna screams as tears flow down her face.
"Oh, cry me a damn river" Lucy screams and goes into the house and slams the door behind her.
Lucy falls to the floor as tears start to flow down her face Emma just stares confused and angry at the same time."UGH" Lucy screams "So, am the one making you like this?" Emma says Lucy looks at Emma with red eyes from crying so much "No, she doesnt know what she is talking about she is just mad that am spending all my time with you instead of her" Lucy says as more tears flow down her cheeks. "Well, what about that Brandon dude?" Emma asks "I dont know, forget him and forget HER" Lucy screams and runs up the stairs to her room.
Emma is left there staring at the stairs.... Alone.
