The Step FATHER

Two days.

Chapter twenty-two

Lucy and Emma,

Emma wakes up before Lucy she glances at the clock on Lucy's nightstand. The clock reads 10:34 she yawns and rolls over to get out of bed. She leans to kiss Lucy's forehead then quietly walks out the room.

Emma walks down the stairs and walks down the hall to the kitchen. She see's Emma's mom writing something on a piece of paper. "Hi, mom" Emma says on the way to the fridge. Her mom looks up from writing "Hi, where's Lucy?" she asks "Sleep" Emma replies.

"Okay, I'm going out for a few hours and Jack already left for work" her mom says.

"Okay love you" Emma says turning to grab two pans out the cabinet.

"Love you too" her mom replies stepping out the back door.

Emma goes in the fridge again and gets out eggs and bacon (For herself). Then turns around to open the cabinet behind her to get pancake mix. She twists around and cracks the eggs and gets out a big bowl for the mix. She pours the mix in the bowl and then realizes she forgot milk. She walks to the fridge again and gets milk. She uses milk because she doesn't like it when people use water.

Emma walks back to the bowl with her dry mix in and she adds milk and mixs it all up. then she walks out the kitchen and up the stairs to Lucy's room. She opens the door and peeks her head in. Lucy is still sleeping like a baby. She looks so cute! She then closes the door and heads back down stairs.

She mixes the batter one more time before pouring it into the hot pan. Then twists around to flip her eyes she glances at the clock on the stove. The clock reads 12:12 she lets out a sigh. Then gets out plates and a tray. she checks on the pancakes and flips them as they start to bubble up.

Hanna,

I can feel my stomach turning warning me that I need food. I lay in bed in complete silence wishing I could just close my eyes and all this would be over when I open them. It's not over it's just started there's two more days until I say my final goodbye to Brandon. My hearts telling me not to go because I will lose my shit. My mind is saying Yeah go ahead see your dead boyfriend get buried.

What should I do Brandon?

Hanna waits in complete silence for a few minutes but to her the minutes felt like hours.

Hanna,

Brandon is that you?

Yes, it's me

Can I see you?

Hanna waits for a minute then she see's a ball of light right in front of her.

Here I am

Hanna stares at the ball of light in front of her a smile spreads across her face. Can you see me? she asks Yeah. I can, Hanna stands up and tries to hug the ball of light. Aye, cant do that! I'm sorry I'm just really happy I can see you. I cant always come to you Hanna it's taking all my power to even let you see me now.

What do you mean? Hanna asks.

What I mean is when your dead and someone wants to see you or communicate with you, you have to use all your energy to either move something or show yourself.

Okay, well I'm sorry I tried to hug you.

I can come to you in your dreams that way you can hug me and stuff.

Hanna smiles and sits down on the bed I would love for you to come in my dreams. I got to go Hanna I'll try to come in your dreams tonight. Brandon, Hanna says looking at the ball of light again yeah?  I Love you Hanna says Love you too baby and you need to eat Brandon says with a smile and then disappearing.

Hanna lays in her bed with a smile spread across her face. "I will" Hanna whispers after a few minutes later her stomach growls. She sits up and lets out a sigh then walks to her door. She walks to her kitchen and walks to the fridge and opens it to see some fruit. That was left over  from the fruit bowl her mom made last night. She takes the bowl out the fridge and sits it on the counter and then gets whipped cream out to put on the Strawberries.

Emma and Lucy,

Emma places the eggs on the plate along with the pancakes. She places them on the tray and walks out the kitchen and walks into Lucy's room Lucy stretches as if she just woke up. "Oh, well good morning sunshine" Emma says walking towards Lucy with food "Morning" Lucy says threw a yawn. "Ya hungry?" Emma asks sitting down next to Lucy "Very" Lucy says smiling. Emma places the tray in front of Lucy and takes the Eggs and Bacon off. "Hey, I want some eggs" Lucy says pouting "Oh, I'm sorry" Emma says cutting a piece of egg and reaching to feeding it to Lucy.

"Ahh" Lucy says opening her mouth.

"In she goes" Emma says dropping the food in her mouth.

"Yummy" Lucy says while chewing.

"Your so cute" Emma says smiling and taking a bite of her bacon.

"I know," Lucy says smiling and leaning to kiss her.

Emma kisses her back and continues to eat. "This is really good babe" Lucy says eating her pancakes "Thanks love" Emma says "What made you wake up and make breakfast?" Lucy asks "Cos I love you" Emma replies.

"Awe. babe" Lucy says smiling.

"Your mom and dad and my mom are out" Emma says looking at Lucy.

"Okay, good we have the house to our self's then" Lucy says giving Emma a smirk.

"Mhm, Soo?" Emma says.

Lucy puts her plate the tray and Emma's plate on the nightstand. Then says "Well, I can try calling Hanna again". Emma leans in and gives Lucy a kiss and says "Want to go get ice-cream later?". "Sure" Lucy says getting her phone and dialing Hanna's number.

Hanna,

Ring,ring

Hanna looks at her phone on her desk light up and vibrate. She gets up and walks towards the desk. She picks up the phone and slides the green phone up. and puts her phone to her ear. "Hello" Lucy says "Hi" Hanna says.

"How are you?" Lucy asks.

"Not well" Hanna replies.

"I.I am sor--" Lucy starts but Hanna interrupts her.

"It's okay" Hanna says.

Lucy is quite for a minute then she says "Uh when is Brandon's funer--" she's interrupted by Hanna again.

"Two days" Hanna says.

"Uh. Okay are you going?" Lucy asks.

"I dunno yet maybe" Hanna says sitting down at the desk.

"Okay, if you are let me know" Lucy says.

"Okay," Hanna says.
