This should be the first time ever in my entire life that I can wake up at 6 am in the morning - in a cheerful mood.
"Good morning! Are you excited?" I chirped as I entered the bathroom. "Excited? That's an understatement!" Mel replied as enthusiastically, exiting my room to go for her shower in the guest room.
Just if you're wondering what Mel was doing at my house so early... Well, we had a last minute sleepover at my place last night after I came back from Hayden's house. We thought it would be more convenient for the both of us.
Speaking about Hayden, I can't wait to spend an entire week with him! Hmm... Going to the beach together, catching the sunset, walking hand-in-hand along the shoreline and having a romantic kiss under -
Hey wait! Where are my thoughts drifting off to? I must be really crazy to think like that. Because first of all, I am not even in a relationship with Hayden and secondly, I'm actually thinking about a romantic kiss with him now?
Caitlyn oh Caitlyn... How crazy can you get?
I hopped into the shower and started applying my watermelon shampoo onto my hair. Who doesn't love the smell of it? Thank goodness most of my scars have already healed so it's not that visible now. The best part is, when it touches any type of water, it won't sting as much. That means that I can enjoy myself fully without having to worry about the water touching my wrist.
Yay for me!
I hummed to a random tune as I pulled on a hoodie and some sweats before getting out of the shower. Just as I've predicted, Mel was already in my room, texting and grinning away on her phone.
"Alright, Ms Bowyer! Let's get to work," I exclaimed and got to the dressing table. "Okay, Ms O' Connells, the usual," she replied and slipped her phone into her pocket before making her way in my direction.
I nodded and we started with blowing my hair dry...
---
"And we are done!" Mel announced. We've spent the past 45 minutes getting ready. The both of us were dressed in an outfit similar to the one I wore yesterday. Jeans, long shirt and a tank top underneath.
So that we can just slip off our long shirts and head straight to the pool after we land in Hawaii, in just our tank tops.
"You've got everything packed?" I clarified one last time just to double check. Just being extra careful as I didn't want to forget to bring anything. "Yeah, what about you?" Mel asked and I nodded briefly. "Good! Now let's bring them downstairs and into the car first," She stated and we sprang into action. It took us a good 5 minutes to drag our bulky luggages downstairs since my mum and dad were nowhere to be found, we had to do it by ourselves.
As we went back into the house, I spotted a car parked outside my house. "I think Paul and Hayden are here already," I tugged Mel's shoulders and she looked at the same direction I was pointing at. "I think so too. Hey! That's Paul!" She pointed out and dragged me along with her. I assumed Hayden carpooled with Paul here.
Wait a moment...
The nearer we got, I realized that the person sitting inside the car wasn't that someone I was expecting.
It wasn't Hayden...
Sitting on the driver's seat was a dashing sex god with a pair of Ray bans on, smirking at me.
"Hey, Cait! Nice to see you again!" that voice greeted.
"Yeah, nice to meet you too," I replied in a monotone, clearly disappointed with whom I saw.
"Aw, come on! Why are you so unhappy?" Brennan asked.
Because you are here, duh.
"I am not! See," I forced a huge fake grin on my face and he chuckled in return.
"Good, now let's get going before we miss the flight." he told us and slipped into the car after flashing me another annoying smirk.
"See ya at the airport, Cupcake."
How I want to smack that smirk off his beautiful face now! Wait, why am I still giving him compliments at such a time? Because he's handsome.
Get a grip, Caitlyn!
Where is Hayden? What is Brennan doing here instead? Are they pulling some sort of silly prank on me right now? Am I really going to go on a holiday with Brennan? Really? What -
"Sweetie, are you riding with us?" Mum asked, bringing me out of my endless thoughts.
"Yeah, I'm coming right away!" I shouted back and speed-walked to my dad's car.
Hopefully... Hayden is already at the airport waiting for us while Brennan... he's just here to drive Mel and Paul there? Yeah, that's it...
I thought.
----
"Have a safe journey. Bon Voyage!" the lady at the check-in counter wished. All the hope I've been holding on to died when we stepped foot into the departure hall; Brennan swinging his arm over my shoulders like it's the most normal thing in the world.
"What are you doing?" I asked, flabbergasted. Surprisingly, his arms drapped over my shoulders feels sort of... right. Like it fits perfectly. "I'm -"
He got cut off by the buzzing from my phone. "Hold on for a second," I apologized and seized this opportunity to wiggle out of his hold.
"Hey, Cupcake. I'm sorry that I couldn't make it today. I received a last minute call from one of the colleges that I've applied for. They needed me to try out their trails tomorrow. I've got Bren to take over my place though, you guys seem to get along really well. ;) -Hayden"
What? You guys seem to get along really well? Yeah right, my foot.
"Why didn't you tell me yesterday? -Cait" I typed back a reply without thinking too much.
"I didn't want you to worry too much. Anyways, have a safe trip and have fun! Don't miss me too much, Caitie! ;) -Hayden"
"Good luck on your trials too. Rest assure, I won't miss you at all, Haydie. ;) -Cait"
I won't miss you at all? What a lie! After one long sigh, I looked up to see a pair of amused blue eyes boring into mine. "What the hell! You scared the living daylight out of me!" I screamed. "I didn't mean to scare you, sorry. You were just acting weird." Bren shot me an apologetic look.
Hey, wait a minute. Did that bad boy just apologized to me? I think he did. "I was just... Too engrossed with my phone, I guess," I confessed. Before he can tease me or give a stupid remark, I continued,"C'mon! The rest are waiting for us at Starbucks. Aren't you hungry yet?" "Yeah, actually a little bit," he answered, rubbing his stomach. I laughed and we strolled to the shop, Brennan's arms draped over my shoulder once again.
Maybe this bad boy isn't that bad after all? What an awesome week to look forward to!
