The further we walked, the nearer we got to wherever Hayden was taking me to. I squinted my eyes and I could make out a shop not far away, in front of us. Not that my eyesight is poor, but it was eerily dark so I couldn't really make out anything in front of us. They should really install more street lamps around here. Who knows? Someone might just get kidnapped here. "Hayden, where are you taking me to?" I asked for the millionth time, trying to stay as close as possible to him. "Just follow me or I'll just ditch you here," he said and rolled his eyes. "Jerk!" I muttered under my breath. "Sorry, but what did you just say," he asked, raising his left brow playfully. "Nothing!" I gave him one of my few innocent smiles and he chuckled before we continued walking.

"Here we are!" he exclaimed. "An ice-cream shop!" I squealed in delight, acting like a 6 six year old that just received her Christmas present. He gave me a huge grin and grabbed my wrist while pushing open the door. It was a sweet little cottage located at the far end of the beach and it was designed in creme color, filled with a variety of ice cream to choose from at the very front of the small, cozy shop.

"Ouch!" I hissed as his palm rubbed against my injuries. "Are you okay?" He asked, concern filling his face and his grasp on my wrist tightened. "Fuck, your hand," I cursed and he thought for a moment before finally releasing his hand. I started blowing at the wound as blood started oozing out once again. "Oh my God, let me have a look," he demanded. I shook my head and ignored him, pulling out a piece of tissue from my bag. "Cupcake, just let me have a look, please. You are tearing up." he asked again, in a more gentle tone this time. I tasted something salty and quickly wiped away my tears. Since when did I start sobbing? Gosh, this is so embarrassing! Why did I freaking forget to put on some dressings before heading out? Urg! Damn, I should have worn a jacket over my dress or something to hide the scars.

He took my arm gently and his eyes were wide with shock at first to see the few ugly lines on my wrist but started blowing at it a few seconds later. "Is it still painful? I'm sorry, I didn't see your scar just now. Sorry," he apologized and I gave him a small smile. "It's okay. But why aren't you hating me or feel disgusted by me? Like, you know, I cut and self harm. Why aren't you running away now? Why are you-" I continued blabbing on and on but stopped when he put his free hand over my mouth,"Shush, stop crying and blabbling at the same time, alright. And for your information, Cupcake, I don't hate you nor do I feel disgusted by you. Now stop crying please. Why not we get some ice-cream first?" He suggested and I nodded. This time, he intertwined our fingers instead.

He swung open the door and we sauntered in. "Hey dear, what would you like to have?" The granny, whom I assumed was the owner, asked us, a kind smile plastered on her wrinkled face. "Hmm," I scanned all the flavors in front of me before deciding,"Can I have a cotton candy and vanilla ice cream, please! Thank you." "Sure sweetheart. What about you, Hayden dear?" She began scooping out the ice-creams I ordered. "I'll have the usual." He answered and we took our seats at one of the tables, waiting for our ice-creams to be ready.

"So... You know that granny?" I asked curiously, glancing at the owner who was currently sprinkling some rainbow sprinkles on my ice-cream. "You can say so. I patrol Susan's shop frequently as they serve really good ice-creams," he replied casually. "Oh. I've never seen this shop before," I answered, taking a glimpse at the shop again. "We are currently at the far end of the beach which is more secluded so not a lot of people notice it." Hayden explained and I nodded. That explains why I've never seen it before when I come to the beach.

"Here you go," Susan chirped and handed us our frozen goodies. "Thank you," I thanked her and she gave me a warm smile,"No worries, dear. Oh and Hayden, is this your girlfriend?" Susan pointed at me and continued with a teasing smile,"She's really pretty!" Before I can protest, she chuckled and walked back to the counter as some teenagers strolled inside. "So, you have a girlfriend, huh?" I smirked. "Susan thought you were my girlfriend as you are the only girl I've bought here. So, I guessed she just assumed things. Well, you can just ignore her comment." Hayden shrugged and took a spoonful of his banana split. "Wanna try some? It's really yummy!" Hayden asked and I just nodded my head awkwardly. Who would say no to food, right?
