"What do you want, Alex?"
"Cait, give me five minutes, alright? Just five, I promise." He asked desperately.
"There's nothing much to talk about." I replied sharply.
Why the hack does he even want to talk to me after we broke up so many months ago?
"Please," he pleaded.
"You have 4 minutes and 55 seconds left." I told him and tapped my index finger on my wrist impatiently. He physically relaxed a little. I wasn't exactly counting though. I was just saying my thoughts out loud.
"Alright. Listen, Cait. Whatever you saw that night wasn't what you think happened. I guess that guy, Brennan, has already told you about what happened to Chloe's sister, Thrish." He began explaining.
I nodded, indicating for him to continue.
"So, that day was also the day after the funeral. She got really upset so she came to me and poured her heart out. I felt bad for her loss so I just comforted her and merely gave her a hug and I swear nothing else happened." He added the last part quickly and looked into my eyes with some hope.
"If I remember correctly, you gave her even more than that. You were basically sucking her damn face instead! Just a hug? Ha! Yeah right. Even a three year old can tell apart from kissing someone and hugging them," I finished and let out a humorless laugh.
The hope that was once in his eyes turned guilty almost immediately.
"But she was the one who started kissing me first!" He defended himself.
"So? You could've pushed her away and in the first place, for your information, you were already attached." I pointed out, starting to get a little pissed.
"Cait-" he started desperately again.
"Enough, Alex. Just stop. This is all already in the past. I don't think that there's a need for us to talk about it anymore. Plus, you already have a girlfriend and I too, also have a boyfriend. So let's just get on with our lives and leave each other alone, just like how the past few months had been like." I cut him off and finished my speech in a breath.
"You... You have a boyfriend now?" He sounded shocked.
"Yeah. Is that a surprise to you?" I lied, trying to sound as confident as possible so that he wouldn't see through me.
What the hell is his problem? He can have a girlfriend after doing unfaithful things to me and I can't have a boyfriend?
"Well, then tell me who your boyfriend is." He persisted.
Darn it! This boy is just so freaking annoying!
"And why should I?" I crossed my arms over my chest, feeling a bit cold after standing out here for so long.
"So that I know you're not lying." He replied simply.
Just then, I caught Brenny running towards us from the direction of what seemed to be the beach house.
I thought of counter attacking him with a smart remark. However, after seeing Brenny, a few ideas popped up in my head.
This should probably work and hopefully he would get off my back and stop pestering me any further in the future.
"Lynnie!"
"Well, then let me prove it to you," I gave him an evil smirk and spun around.
"Sorry, Lynnie! I was in the beach house just now and -" he started explaining, with a cute little frown etched on his forehead.
