"Help! You can't just leave me alone to die over here!" I yelled in exasperation, pacing the ground impatiently.
"You're not going to die, Cait. It's merely just choosing an outfit to wear." She replied in a bored tone, looking up from her magazine and casting a quick look at me before rolling her eyes.
After that, she returned to her magazine.
"Urg! You're seriously of no help at all." I commented, stopping by my bed and plopping my body onto it.
Can't she see how stressed I was right now?
The least she should do since she's here is to help me pick an outfit for my date later on, right?
"I don't even know where he's bringing me to, so-" I stopped when my phone buzzed in my pocket.
Picking it up, I saw that it was a message from Brenny.
"Hey, princess. Open your front door. I bought you some clothes. Remember to
wear it for the date later. See you ;) -Bren"
What? He brought me clothes?
Sitting up from my bed, I jogged out of my room and proceeded to open the front door.
Sure enough, a glossy pink piece of wrapping paper was wrapped nicely around a rectangular box and a black ribbon was tied on it to make it more secure, as it sat on my doorstep.
Picking it up, a small smile tugged on my lips.
"Aw, that's so sweet. But how do I know that you did not throw some dead rats inside as some sick prank?-Cait"
I typed a quick reply and sent it to him.
Obviously, that gesture was very sweet. About the dead rat thing, I was only half joking.
It doesn't hurt for one to be more cautious sometimes right?
However, if there really was a dead rat inside, then there should already be a stench, and why the hack would he even go close to a dead animal? Ew.
I think I'm nuts.
Hmph!
That boy! He should've told me sooner that he got something for me to wear.
That would've saved me from so much trouble, fretting out over what to wear.
"No, it wasn't a rat. It was a cockroach. 😒. And by the way, you're welcome.-Bren"
I could almost see his eye roll, even though I'm no where near him right now.
"Ha ha. Anyways, thanks ☺️. -Cait"
"Anything for you, my Lady. See you later. 👑 ;) -Bren"
"See you later 🙇 -Cait"
Blame it on my weirdness, but I have no idea why I sent that 'boy in blue clothes and staring at you like a creepy stalker' emoji.
Without even realizing it, I was already standing inside my room, a goofy smile on my face.
"What's with that face and what's that?" Mel asked, pointing at the box in my arms.
So she finally decided to put her magazine aside and focusing her attention on me, huh?
"Bren got it for me. He asked me to wear it later," I replied, still unable to get that crazy smile off my face.
What was wrong with me?
