Chris's POV

I leaned against the wall of the old shack with my hands in my pockets. Lilly refused to look at me or acknowledge my existence. She sat on a box on the opposite side of the shack reading a book. She was wearing a pair of light blue jean short-shorts that displayed her gorgeous legs and a blue tank top that brought out her sparkling eyes. A lock of curly red hair dangled in front of her nose, just taunting me because I knew that there was no way that she would let me get close enough to brush it behind her ear.

I checked my iPod for the time.

We had only been in there for five minutes.

It felt like hours.

I let myself slide to the ground.

I knew that she hated me. She hadn't said a word to me ever since the incident and I didn't blame her.

I tried to say something a few times, but I couldn't make the words come out.

What's the use if she won't listen to me anyway? I asked myself.

Well it's worth a shot. said another little voice.

Is it? Really?

Yes.

Really?

Yes!

But-

JUST SAY SOMETHING ALL READY!!

Pushing the argument with myself out of my mind I decided that I should say something.

"I didn't want to cheat on you," I said, nearly choking because my throat was so dry.

"What?" she barely moved.

I took a deep breath and tried again, "I didn't want to cheat on you. Courtney came in asking me for my cell phone and she said that she wanted to text Megan telling her that she was in the practice rooms. At the time, I didn't think anything of it. I checked my phone and she sent one to Megan. What I didn't see was that she had sent a text to you too. Courtney's the one who texted you, not me. Then when you came in, she forced herself upon me and stuck her tong down my throat to make it look like I was cheating on you. I don't have feelings for her. I don't like her at all and I never did in the first place. You're the first person that I've ever felt really passionate about and really wanted a relationship with. Then when I finally had you..." I paused not wanting to relive that heartbreak, "I know you probably hate me right now and you probably won't believe what I said but it's the truth. I'm sorry about what happened and I'm sorry if I hurt you in any way..."

"I don't hate you Chris," she whispered, startling me.

"What?"

"I don't hate you," she put down the book, "I believe that you didn't cheat on me."
