Chapter 33

Kiara

"SUP-rise", my tone changed from high pitch to low in mere seconds as the door swung open and there revealed a smiling Noah whose smile faded matching my tone, pitching down, when he saw me and more over after looking at Parker who stood there with a wide grin. He was shocked more than surprised.

I think bringing Parker here was not a good idea. Noah will hate me even more now.

Darn!

"Hey man! How are you doing?" Parker broke his trace by bro-hugging him.

Noah gave his fake polite smile and said, "I'm good Parker, how have you been?"

"Absolutely fantastic!"

Hearing our voices and easing the tension between the boys Jammy came to my rescue.

Thank the good lord!

"Hey Kiara", he came to the porch and hugged me tightly which I returned saying, "Hey Jammy, it's so good to finally see you."

"It totally is", he pulled out of the hug and looked at Parker.

I immediately introduced James to Parker and told him how he is our Monte Carlo friend as we walked through the hallway.

Jammy owned a very fine property in the outskirts of the city. This place was our usual party spot during the early college days. Now time has parted us and this place, into old rusty memories.

He guided us to our rooms. Since Noah and Aiden were already in one room and Tam with Isa and Jub, Jammy asked if Parker and I could share one room. We agreed on that after not having many choices.

This room was one of those large ones after Jammy's room of course and had single beds which were separated by a bedside lamp table. There was a huge bathroom enough for us to use and also keeping our necessities at extreme ends.

After settling in the room, Parker asked me, "Beautiful, I think Noah isn't very delighted to see me here."

I shook my head and said, "No Park, of course not, he is just a little surprised seeing you here."

Even I knew that Noah isn't Parker's biggest fan.

We cleaned ourselves and went out to sit with everyone. They were all at the terrace planning the surprise gift for James' birthday. Tomorrow is the day and we are planning to surprise him tonight at 12 o' clock. All of us were brain storming ideas for his surprise. So many thoughts breezed into our minds.

"So I think this is the final plan and we can start working on it. I will go to the market with Parker and get the decorations, Jubilee is already with Jammy in finalising the party preparations for tomorrow evening, Isabella and Aiden can do the shopping for the alcohol and snacks, while Noah and Kia can bake the cake", Tamara allocated everyone's duty as always, it is her favourite thing to do.

We all went straight to our duties before our head mistress Ms Tam would scream on us. I was glad I got a chance to talk to Noah alone and clear the thick awkward air between us.

Tam knew Noah and I were great bakers for cake so it would have been the ideal choice while she was great with decorations and of course Parker too.

"Hey Nohi, ready to bake?" I wore my apron and asked Noah who was also wearing his apron.

"Always", he smiled.

We removed the receipt for the cake we wanted to bake and started.

"Did you talk to your parents about the whole thing Kia?" Noah asked.

"Yes I did, they did not like my decision very much but then Grand also said he will talk to them so I hope they will understand. I am again very sorry Noah! I messed up things between us and among our parents too maybe."

He immediately stopped mixing the flour and came up to me. His hands caressed my cheeks as he said, "Kia, like I have said earlier also, you have nothing to feel bad or guilty about, those were your feelings and it is good that we came to know about it before anything else could happen. There is no space for anything to spoil between us or our parents. They will understand too, and if they don't I will talk to them but you do not worry about anything. You are still my same Jerry and I am your Tom."

His words always managed to make me feel better and today they did it again. He is my healer and will always be. I smiled internally.

I am much more relived now that there is no space between us and that we are same old best friends, we used to be.

"What would I do without you, Tom?" I hugged him.

He laughed, "Umm, I don't think we will have to come across that ever."

"I love you Nohi"

"I love you too Jerry"

I know she meant in the most friendly way that was possible but now that is the fact I need to accept and move along with it. All I want is, Kiara to be happy, which she will be as I will not let anyone hurt her. If she wants our friendship for life then, that is what I will be to her.

We continued our baking for the next few hours catching up on the lost past awkward days when we did not talk and it made me feel so much better which also made me realise that I can be happy with Kia as my best friend because I just wanted her in my life.

Although, I still hate Parker and the fact the two came together and are sharing the same room. But they didn't have a choice either. Good that the beds were separate.
