Chapter 44

Noah

"Babe I'll be leaving in 5!"

"Okay, then I'll pack up too", Tam said.

We were meeting up for lunch as Tamara wanted to talk to me about something. I left my work and she was going to walk the block to the restaurant. We decide to go for Chinese today.

I reached the restaurant and there she was waiting for me on a corner table looking into her phone. She wore a pale-yellow shirt and white pants pairing it with her brown wedges. Even in this simple outfit, she looked beautiful.

She broke into a smile as she saw and got up to peck my cheek, "Hi baby!"

"Hi babe, did you order something? I am hungry", as she nodded and said, "I was waiting for you."

We quickly placed our orders and I asked her, "Now tell me what happened?"

She looked me in the eye and then gazed down and said, "You know I really think we should tell everyone about us because I can't lie to them anymore, as especially, Kay. It is affecting us as I have to keep ignoring her to avoid her questions. She has sensed something is wrong with me and I can't do this to her anymore."

Tam was really sad and upset that she had to lie to Kia but I did not know that it was affecting her friendship with her so much. I know how much both of them mean to each other and this made me feel bad.

I took her hand into mine and looked her into the eyes, "You know Tamara Jones, every day I am falling deeper in love with as you surprise me every day with these qualities of yours and yes we will go and tell everyone about it because I am very secure and assured about us now."

She immediately dived into a kiss and smiled at me, "Thank you for being so understanding."

Later in the evening...

Kiara

"Park I was thinking maybe you should put this frame up there; it will match your vase on the side", I was at Parker's place helping him with his new furniture that arrived. I had come directly to his place after work.

"The way you want it beautiful", he winked at me as I tried to hide the blush and climbed up the chair to hang the frame.

"There you go, have a look Park", I called him back. He came in simply lifted me bridal in his arms and whispered, "Perfect".

I am sure there was no way I could hide my blush now and something about those eyes that did not blink and kept piercing into mine. Our moment broke as the chair moved and made a squeaky sound.

"I meant the frame", he winked and set me down. "Um yeah, I know!" I tried to sound as cool as I possibly could, probably failed but a girl can always try.

It's not my fault that he always looks so hot and manages to do what he just did. He was wearing a dark grey vest and a navy-blue shorts with his hair being the same messy as usual.

What is happening Kia, get a grip?!

My bubble broke with a call from Calvin, "Hey Cal!"

"Hey there, what are you planning to do after dinner?" he asked me.

"Nothing maybe crash in my bed, why?"

"I was wondering if you would want to meet a few work colleagues, they have called me for drinks but this is the first time I am meeting them and I didn't want to go alone", he sounded nervous.

I chuckled and said, "Sure Cal, its nice to see you all nervous you know."

"Oh please! I was just making sure that your night wasn't as boring as you planned it to be", and his cocky side is back. This time I knew the truth and so I just laughed at him and ignored that.

"I'll see you at home Kia", and before I could even say yes, he disconnected the call as I continued laughing.

"What happened?" Parker asked me as soon as I kept the call.

"Cal's work colleagues have invited him for drinks and he was too shy to tell me that he didn't want to go alone so he asked me if I could come along and I said yes", I laughed as I told him.

"Oh! So, you will go there as his date or something?" a very possessive tone of Parker just took over.

"What? No Park, of course not. I am just going as a family friend to him", I tried to explain to him.

Later we ate dinner and I left Parker's place. I was going to get home, shower and then get ready to go with Calvin, it was my first time meeting his colleagues as well.

"Are you ready to leave Kia?" Calvin called me from his room.

"Yes, in a minute", I told him as I was giving a final touch to my makeup.

I heard Calvin march down the stairs and I followed him in a minute after. I saw him waiting at the door and as he saw me words just left his mouth as he checked me out, "You look hot!"

"Um, thanks Cal!"

We left from the house and I drove the car where he directed me. We reached in about 7 minutes. I parked and the car and we stepped out.

His hand went down my waist as he escorted me inside. We had come to a pub where all his colleagues where drinking by the bar and enjoying.

"Hey Calvin buddy!" one tall fair man shook hands and gave Calvin a bro hug.

"Hey Damon! How are you?"

"I am good bro, who is this gorgeous woman by you? Your girlfriend?" he asked about me.

"Haha! Save me the horror no, she is a family friend Kiara", Calvin almost joked and offended me.

Jerk!

"Excuse him, hey I am Kiara, unfortunately his family friend", I shook hands with Damon.

Damon laughed as he offered us drinks and then soon more people joined and all of started getting along. His colleagues were very sweet to us and quite welcoming towards him. Calvin was occasionally being a jerk to me while at the same time keeping a check on me if I was enjoying.

The rest of the night became blur as we drove back around 3 in the morning. I came home and was about to crash when Calvin swigged inside my room and plopped himself into the bed.

"Thanks for coming and you're welcome", he smirked.

"Excuse me! You're welcome?"

"Yes of course, I saved you from boring plans first and then I introduced you to several hot and good-looking guys. Who wouldn't want that now?"

"Ahh of course you did with the great introduction that you gave me", as I crossed my arms in front of him.

He laughed and said, "Honestly, that was quite fun. I need to give something to make you sound fun, now don't I?"

I raised my brow and questioned him, "You say I am no fun?"

"I don't know that as yet now, do I?" he marked suggestively as he stood close to me.

I rolled my eyes and dragged him out of my room so that I could change and sleep. I have to get to work too tomorrow, unlike him!
