Chapter 42

Kiara

"Hey Jub", I took a seat next to Jubilee while we were in our office cafeteria having our lunch.

"Hey Kia, how was your meeting?" she asked as we ate our food.

"Ahh! It was amazing, we are totally getting this one too", I smirked.

We spoke about our work for some more time before she spoke my mind to me, "Kia, babe, isn't Tamara acting a bit secretive off lately?"

She continued, "The other day I rang her to ask about a dress my cousin wanted but she waved off and said she will call me back because apparently she was busy and then never returned. Tam has never done that in the past."

She never compromises with her work or any of us.

I nodded in agreement and told Jub, "Yes! Last week, Parker and I had gone to her boutique to meet her since Park hasn't seen the place but that time also she wasn't there which again never happens."

"Did you ask her where was she or what was the matter?" she asked me.

"I did, but again she just excused herself saying that she was not well and so she left work early."

"Not only had this, happened once, but it repeated thrice with me", I whinned.

Jub got surprised with that too, just like the way I got each time she did that. We both had puzzled looks pasted on our faces as to why would Tam behave so strangely. She is totally behaving out of her sleeves these days.

I was thinking maybe this was some work related stress she was going through but now that Jubilee told me that she isn't even attentive about work, there is a lot more then and I am getting worried about this girl now.

After lunch, I called her up to talk about it or ask her to meet me, "Kay I won't be free until late, there are a lot of deadlines to meet up with and I am so stressed with it. But I promise to meet you in the coming week. Now I gotta go, I'll talk to you later, bye", and the call ended from the other side.

Okay now this was the limits of her being out of the place, she does not do this.

My mind bubble broke with my phone ringing, which flashed my aunt's number.

"Hey Aunt Cherry", I greeted her.

"Hello dear, how is my girl?" she asked in her cheerful voice.

"I am doing great, how are you, uncle and grand?"

"We're wonderful sweetheart. I had called to tell you that Calvin will be landing to California tonight at ten and I have mailed you his flight details", I glanced at my inbox and checked her mail.

"Don't worry, I'll pick him up from the airport."

"Thank you so much dear, actually he intended to call you but the last minute rushes so he had to pass me the details", she explained.

"That's not a problem", I smiled but mentally I was judging him all the way through.

Hey, don't blame me! He could have just left me a message, wouldn't have harm him!

After talking to my aunt, I quickly got to work, pushing Calvin and Tamara out of my mind for some time. I completed all my work and went home so that I could take a shower, change and have my dinner before leaving to get his highness the great Calvin, like he was Calvin Harris!

Completing all my chores off the list, I called out mum and told her I was leaving. On the way, Parker gave me a call, which helped me calm down.

Okay maybe just a little!

"Park! But he could have just called me or dropped me a text message about his flight details, now that's not too hard, is it?!" I argued.

"Kia, just relax! That's alright. Don't judge him, you haven't even got a chance for the real encounter", he said which did make sense again.

Hate that!

"Okay fine but if Mr. Arrogant continues his ways then I am not holding back", I warned him as he just laughed on my all-mighty warning.

"Alright now you go and drive safe. I will talk to you later, my food is ready too."

"Yeah sure, bye Park and yes you are best", I chirped with my flipped new mood.

Not mood swings!

I don't know what but still!

Maybe Parker magic, but, not mood swings!

He laughed again and smirked, "Bye beautiful", and we hung up.

I reached the airport in time and went to the arrivals. According to my watch and the schedules, his flight had landed and he would be there soon.

Since I haven't seen him in long, my aunt had given me his number and I am not arrogant, so being the kind person that I am, I had dropped him a text message about me being there on his arrival. But seems like it was a total waste as someone hasn't called me as yet! Just then my phone buzzed with an unknown number.

"Hello?"

"Kiara?" a deep husky voice spoke from the other end.

"Yes?"

"Ohh hey! I am Calvin, where are you? I am waiting at the airport."

Ohh so Mr. Arrogant has a sexy voice now!

Shut up Kay!

"Hello?" he said in a little high pitch.

"Yeah sorry! Yes I am at the airport too, at the arrivals, where are you?"

"I can't find you", he struggled.

Like I can!

Fighting against our odds we managed to find each other by deciding upon a decent location to which we both could reach up and kept the call on hold.

While talking to Calvin and trying to find him, someone tapped my shoulder and as soon as I turned my eyes meet a new pair of beautiful brown eyes...

Here is yet another character in our plot, Calvin. Kiara has already formed an opinion about him. What do you think will happen next?

Will that opinion change?

And what about Tamara that the two girls Jubilee and Kiara are suspecting, what will they find out there?
