Chapter 37

Parker

"So I'll see you around noon?"

"Okay cool, I will be ready by then beautiful", I got off the call with Kiara.

She was going to pick me up from my apartment by noon so that we could go and shop some basic utilities for my living. Words can't justify how grateful I am to my company for transferring me here in California.

It's not just for the record that I have friends like Kiara here to help me but a beautiful person like her to step into my life.

I don't know what would be suitable to mouth the vibe that we share. We connect with a great force that lured from the first time we bumped in Monte Carlo.

My thoughts were broken when my phone rang and it was Austin. I have missed both him and Diego a lot. I instantly answered it, "Hey Bro! How are you?"

"I am great. How is California? You haven't spoken to Dee or me since the time you went there. Has California made you forget us already?"

I chuckled, "Nah! Never in a billion years will that happen. There are just a lot of things happening one after the other, which is why I couldn't contact you'll. Sorry Aust!"

"It's alright Parker! I had called to inform you that next month I will be coming in around the second week."

"Wow dude, that's great news! Can't wait to have you here", we spoke for another half an hour as I was filling him up with everything here, well almost everything. I did not tell him about the situations between Kiara and me.

I think right now is not a good time!

By the time I got off the call it was half past 11 already and I was due my shower. Grabbing my last piece of toast I ran to take a bath. I quickly got ready and Kiara was there exact on time as always. I locked my apartment and we left.

"Hey gorgeous!"

"Hey there", Kia blushed as we hit the road.

We went to stores for purchasing the bed sheets, cushions, curtains, mattresses, carpets and so on. Since our choices have similarities we were really quick in choosing the materials. We also stopped by at a Pizza Parlour to have lunch and then continued our way.

By evening both of us were almost exhausted and bored at the same time. Luckily we have picked up a lot of required things from the list so we weren't going to continue. Kiara asked me if I wanted to visit Tam's boutique and I didn't mind as I would get to spend some more time of my day with her.

We drove to there in 20 minutes. Kiara didn't give a call to Tam and thought it would be fun to surprise her. According to Kia, she is normally around in the boutique at this clock.

"Hey Daisy", Kia greeted a young pretty lady at the front desk.

"Oh hey Kiara! How have you been?"

"I am great. Daisy that's my friend Parker", she introduced me as I gave her a warm smile.

"Nice to meet you Parker", she blushed.

I was about to extend her my hand to shake but just before that Kiara possessively tucked her hand around my arm and asked Daisy, "Where is Tam?"

I gave a puzzled looked to Kia but she didn't seem to even acknowledge that instead she smiled at Daisy. Looking at her possessive side, a smile crept on my face.

"Sorry Kiara, mam is not here. She left in afternoon and said will not come back today."

"Tam never leaves this early. Did she tell you where was she going?" Kia asked her.

"No"

Kiara instantly removed her phone and ringed Tam.

"Hey Tam! Babe where are you? I came here at the boutique to see you along with Parker since we were around."

There was pause before Kiara said, "Okay take care Tam."

"What's the matter beautiful?" I asked her.

"Tam was not feeling well so she decided to take the day off", Kiara said.

Kiara's facial expression screamed that she was not sure of what Tam said over the call. So I suggested her, "I think we should go now, we can come back when Tamara returns."

She nodded and told Daisy, "Yeah I guess he is right, we'll get going. I'll see you around Daisy. Bye."

I waved at Daisy too as we left.

"What's the matter?" I questioned Kiara about Tam.

"What?! Nothing you didn't necessarily have to shake hands with Daisy", she said as we sat back in the car.

Clearly, that wasn't what, I was intended on asking for but now let's have fun with the little possessive Kiara Pattinson!

"Ohh yeah but she seemed so nice and no harm in flirting a bit with someone that pretty now, Kia", I winked at her.

She rolled her eyes and said, "Sure you had to jump into that first opportunity."

"Babe I love your sarcasm!" I started laughing.

"I was just saying that you didn't really have to get started so fast. I mean you can do better if you are actually looking out for dates", she rushed with her words, especially 'dates'.

"Oh my god beautiful I didn't know you would get jealous about it so easily", I cracked into fits of laughter.

"Parker Watson, who says I am jealous?! And why would I be jealous?!"

"Sure", sarcasm slipped my mouth as I continued to grin.

After a good five minutes of laughing and teasing Kiara, I ceased and asked her my real question about Tamara.

She replied, "I don't know but Tam doesn't really do this, she is a very dedicated towards her work. She doesn't really get home with sick leaves."

"Maybe she was genuinely not well this time and she couldn't pull off working so she went home. Come on Kia it's a very petty reason to give your mind upon. You can ring her at night or visit her tomorrow and check by yourself", I tried explaining her.

"Yeah maybe you are right. I'll call her up at night."

We drove back to my apartment and dumped all the shopping boxes. Both of us were exhausted so we didn't bother to unpack and set up everything. Besides we had decided to shop for everything required first and then settle it in the place.

I made us cups of coffee and enjoyed them in my balcony. By about 7.30 in the evening Kia left and I called off my day crashing in my bed. I wasn't hungry for dinner so I opted to skip.
