"Oh hey Jerry!" I waved Kia from my porch as I walked up to her. It was a fresh early morning when Kiara and I were going to our respective jobs. She was all well dressed in her formals like always as we hugged each other.
"Good morning Tom! How are you? It's like we aren't neighbours anymore, we barely meet these days", she whined.
"A wonderful morning to you too, Kia! I'm great and yes I agree we have hardly got a chance to catch up. We should plan on something soon", I couldn't have agreed more.
She nodded as I said, "What's new with you these days?"
"Just the same routine and I have been helping Park with his shifting and settling here", a tinkle spark lit her face up.
Wow that's new!
"Ohh yes! How is he doing here? Does he need any help, I could be of some use here", I offered with a sincere effort.
"Did you just say you want to help Parker?" she blinked twice as I laughed, "Yeah, you heard me. I think I rushed in judging him, so I thought, it would be a good to know him first", I shrugged.
She giggled and said, "I really appreciate that Nohi, we should all meet up soon. It's been long, all of us got to hangout."
Kia and I spoke for some more time before we both realised that we were extremely late for work. We quickly bid our farewell and set off to start our day. It felt so good to talk to her after a long time. We haven't got a chance to talk at all after the weekend at James.

"I'll see you after dinner baby", I told Tam on the other line while cooking the super in the kitchen. Today was my chance to cook and dad was in the living room watching the television. I was going to meet Tam after my meal and tonight we were going to go out for a long drive. I had it all planned, I had desired to take her to this place since a very long time but it never worked out until today, finally!
I quickly completed my tasks and called dad for dinner, "Dad, after dinner I am going to meet Aiden so I will be late, maybe morning", I informed dad.
Aiden, my best friend you have been my best savior always, especially in the recent times because I keep taking his name whenever I have to meet Tamara.
I feel the adrenaline of my college days all over again.
"Son, how is it going between Kiara and you? Are you'll fine now?"
"Yes dad, Kia and I bump into each other timely, in fact today in the morning itself and we are absolutely perfect. I know dad, we didn't marry each but, that doesn't change anything between us. We have always been best friends and we always will be, I promise", I assured him.
"That's wonderful and I am so glad you'll have handled the whole situation rightly. I don't think anything is as huge as the friendship that you'll share", I nodded in agreement.
We ate the dinner and then when I was doing the dishes, I saw Kia from my window. She seemed to have been coming back from somewhere and there was a man with her.
Who is that?
Moonlight adjusted down the road and I got to see the face, it was Parker!
The two seemed very close with the way they were talking very cheerfully. The memory from today morning flashed when she told me about him and her face was lit up with just his name. Parker dropped her by the doorstep and planted a kiss on her cheek. I think she blushed as she bid her adios to him and he left.
