I never knew teaching was gonna be so hard. I thought it would be easy trying to teach Shawn to use his powers. But it was exhausting.

"Ok try to make that plant grow in a circle or some other shape." I said, watching from the roof by my window. Melanie was down there in my backyard with Shawn trying to get him to use his powers correctly.

He closed his eyes and concentrated, pointing his hand in the direction of the plant. The plant twitched a little and he opened his eyes.

I sighed. Melanie facepalmed.

"Sorry, I'm new to this and I don't really know how to do it. It would help if you guys would give an explanation on how to use my powers." he said.

I thought over how to explain it. "Ok, so my powers usually come out when there's too much of one specific emotion. Like if I'm too angry or something."

Or scared of a memory... I thought to myself.

He processed this for a moment. "But nothing really gets me mad."

Melanie smirked. She leaned over and whispered something to him that I couldn't hear because I was on the roof.

His face turned into a blush and angry. He turned around and the grass suddenly sprung up around Melanie and turned sort of sharp, all pointing to her.

"Don't speak of that." he said, still blushing.

She seemed unfazed by the dangerous grass around her. She was still smirking down at him and laughed a little. "Sure, sure. Whatever you say."

The grass slowly went back down and turned back to its normal, nonthreatening self.

"Well. You did it. You turned grass into a weapon. Congrats. But you didn't move the plant." I jumped down the tree next to the roof and looked at him.

He tilted his head. "But I was able to use my power correctly."

I walked over to them. "But I told you to change the shape of the plant. And you didn't do that. Therefore, you're not done. Yes, you accomplished the goal of being able to use your power. However, you have not completed the task I gave you. This will be very important in future fights."

He looked like he didn't understand. I looked over to Melanie and she looked the opposite. She knew from enough fights what I was talking about and why I'm telling him this. We had to learn the hard way this stuff. I probably have a scar for each thing I didn't learn before the fight I got the scar in. Except my newest one. That was just my carelessness by not noticing Jace. But that one still reminded me to be more aware of my surroundings at all times.

"Yeah. You need to focus on the one thing, or in a fight you might get killed." Melanie chimed in.

I sat cross-legged on the grass. "Now change the plant's shape."

He just stared at us with a blank expression pasted on his face. "I don't really understand but okay."

He closed his eyes and concentrated with his hand out to the plant, like he was doing before. I was crossing my fingers that the plant wouldn't just twitch like it had the first time.

The plant slowly moved, its vines and leaves coming out of the ground, tangling together. He focused more and the plant tangled itself into a circle-ish shape.

I nodded my head. "Good. Now move the grass under us."

He sat down next to me, and Melanie stood back to watch, and maybe to get bandaids if this turned out badly.

I felt the ground beneath me move slightly, and then the grass started lifting us up, as if we were on a platform making us go up to the trees above. He kept lifting us up until I was to the point where I was close enough to the trees that I could almost see the night sky through the large branches.

"Okay, bring us back down now." I said.

We continued going up.

"I said to bring us back down to the ground. We're about to hit the tree branches."

He didn't stop.

I looked over at him, confused at why we were still being lifted up. He was deep in concentration, and didn't look like he could hear anything I was saying. He looked as if he was thinking about something very deeply.

I snapped my fingers in his face. We were going through the trees now. Around him, the branches turned to stay away from him. However, I had to dodge them to not get hit. Some twigs brushed against my arms and legs, scratching and cutting them.

"Hey! Get us down!" I yelled in his face.

His head snapped up in realization and looked all around us at where we were and what happened. He turned pale and we started falling as the grass that was lifting us up, had disappeared suddenly.

We were high up so we both yelled as we were falling. Now, the branches weren't moving out of his way, so we both got hit with sticks and twigs.

Melanie saw us falling and ran into the house, probably getting bandages to help. Or she could've been getting my brother to tell him that I got hurt. Or maybe she was just abandoning us to go do something else. It was probably one of the first two suggestions, but with someone you hate and they hate you mutually as well, you could never be too sure.

But when Shawn hit the ground, for him all the plants and grass beneath him made sort of a cushion for him so he wasn't as hurt as he should have been from the impact of the fall.

For me on the other hand, the plants did nothing to help. I hit the ground on my back hard. And because we fell through the trees, branches fell. And my head just so happened to hit one of those branches.

I couldn't feel anything during the impact with the hard ground. But that lasted for about half a second. Then my body had pain flaring all throughout it. Especially my back and head. I didn't move. It hurt too much to try. But I didn't have to move to feel that I was bleeding all over as well.

I saw Shawn come running over, yelling something in the direction of the house, that I couldn't hear. There was ringing in my ears. Everything started turning darker as my vision blurred.

The last thing I saw before going unconscious was four blurs that I knew were my brothers and Melanie.

(A/N) I'm a day late but at least it was only a day instead of a month this time.

Also, CLIFFHANGER.

I think I'm getting better at writing detail, and comment if you think I'm right! OwO I like this chapter even if it wasn't as important to the plot as needed.

Now I have a project due tomorrow that I haven't even started yet, so goodbye my amazhangs.
