He looked at me and smiled. There was an empty seat next to me and I put my binder in it so he wouldn't sit there. The teacher noticed and said "Leo, you can sit next to her." and pointed to me.

He smiled and walked to the seat and stood there waiting for me to move my binder. I reluctantly moved it back next to my desk.

__________Time skip past class_________

It was time to go to drumming. He was the new kid so I had an idea, so I wouldn't look completely horrible.

"Can I give you a tour? Since you don't know where anything in the school is." I said with a smile.

"Sure. And sorry about earlier. I was just lost in thought. I guess you already know my name." he replied.

"Oh. Kk. Can I see your schedule?" I asked him.

"Sure. Here." he pulled the piece of paper from his back pocket. I stared at it for a while.

"This has all my classes on it. At the same time." I said in disbelief, looking up at him.

"Really? Cool!"

"Well, there are some kids with all the same classes as me now, so I guess its not impossible. Well come on, we're going to be late if we just keep standing here talking. In drumming, you just sit wherever you want so you can sit next to me until you find a friend." I said, walking out the door.

"But what about your friends? Won't they want to sit next to you?" he asked.

"Nope. I ain't got any friends. Not very good at making them. Better at fighting with people than becoming friends with them."

"Oh. I was never good at making them either. But I do have friends. They just live far away. We mostly get to see each other over the summer in a special camp that we go to all summer." he said.

"Ok. Drumming is on the 2nd floor to the left of the main entrance. Its in that hallway. Its really fun" I said.

"Cool. So what classes have assigned seating and which ones don't?" he asked.

"Social Studies is the only one with assigned seating, so you can sit next to me in every class I guess. After a while you'll get used to my ADHD, I promise." I told him with a slight laugh.

"I have ADHD too. So what do you do in drumming?"

"Well, we drum obviously. But we're working on a song that has another instrument. So the teacher has to tell the kids who play that instrument how to play the notes. So she lets us other kids just talk."

"That seems like a good way for me to get know about you." He grabbed some small gears and wires from his jacket pocket and started making something that I couldn't find out what it was. Then we got to class.
