So sorry I haven't updated, it's been crazy this semester, but summer is starting, so hopefully I'll be able to update more. The picture above is a reference in case my explanation wasn't very good for the dress. Before I finally start this chapter, I want to thank you all for continuing to read this story in my absence, and since I know a lot of people don't like reading these authors notes, I'm going to get on with the chapter.
I stood at the door to the school gym, waiting for my date. Felt weird even thinking that. I usually chased most girls away because I tried too hard. But I guess Eclipse wasn't really like most girls. She was a demigod who had gorgeous dark red eyes that sometimes changed to a blue-ish green, perfectly imperfect multicolored hair, that pale skin that would make you think she was a ghost, which was a starking contrast to her eyes, those beautiful eyes I could stare into for hours-
My thoughts were suddenly interrupted by Nico, who'd snuck himself into the school via shadow travel. "Is she ever gonna get here?"
"You're really impatient aren't you?" I rolled my eyes. "She's not even your date, dude. Go inside and have fun."
"I'm not here for fun, I'm here because you can't seem to hurry up and get this girl to Camp. I told Chiron we should've sent that satyr," he crossed his arms.
"Gee, thanks. She texted me like half an hour ago saying she was getting ready. Don't know when she'll be here though," I leaned back against the wall.
We stood in silence for a few more minutes, Nico checking the time constantly and muttering under his breath.
I had my head down in boredom, everyone else was already inside, dancing and having fun, while we were out here waiting for my date to show up. That is until I heard a familiar voice call "Hey Leo, what're ya standing around for? We got some partying to do!"
I lifted my head and instantly was struck with the most beautiful image I'd ever seen. Eclipse was striding towards me, hair perfectly curled behind her in a high ponytail, the multicolored streaks falling by her shoulders and back. Her makeup was done so it complimented her freckles and eyes. Her dress made her look different than the other girls I'd seen at the prom so far. Most of the other girls decided to wear shorter dresses, that were too low at the top, and/or too high on the bottom. Eclipse was wearing a purple dress that faded into blue at the bottom, coming down to her baby blue heels, which I was surprised to see her wearing. But then again, I was surprised to see her wearing anything like this at all. It had a black sequined band like thing around the waist and was strapless. The purple made a great contrast to her pale skin.
I must've looked stupid just standing there staring, my mouth agape at her appearance. Whatever image I'd had of the word "beautiful" before was instantly tossed out the window, as this replaced it without a single doubt. She seemed to notice my obvious staring because she stopped in front of the steps and crossed her arms as if to hide her appearance, shifting uncomfortably from foot to foot.
I cleared my throat. I wanted to say something romantic like Your beauty rivals that of Aphrodite, but the only thing that came out was a hoarse mumble of "Y-you look nice."
"Um, thanks, I guess. You look rather dashing as well." She looked at my suit and tie, which had taken me forever to do.
I tried again for a romantic comment like I pale in comparison to your wonderous image, but again, I could only say "Thanks."
Thankfully, she was better in awkward situations than I was. Naturally, I make the situation more awkward, and the last thirty seconds proved that. She said, "Shall we go inside?"
