Over the past months, Overwatch had begun to grow more and more. Fresh new faces, and some of old joined to help fight the battle against Talon. But one man has made Charles feel quite uneasy. That man was Soldier: 76. Everytime he would brush past the man, The Rider would start to boil.
'That Soldier 76, he seems familiar.' The Rider hissed in Charles's mind. Charles watched as 76 grabbed a cup of black coffee and left the mess hall. Charles did have to agree with The Rider, his presence did seem familiar.
'I agree. He does seem familiar.' Charles said. "Hey, Lena, you know anything about the 76 fellow?" He asked.
"Don't know love, says he was an agent before the collapse and shut down." Lena replied before stabbing a pancake. Charles sighed and looked to see Angela sit next to him and smile.
"Good morning liebes. I hope pleasant dream plagued your mind?" She asked stroking his chin. "Yes Angi, The Rider has been quiet for some time. He only acts up when there are people that need punishing." He said taking a drink of milk. Angela looked at him and sighed. She was glad to have Charles like this, calm, collective, innocent. She hated the Rider, the Spirit of Vengeance that possessed his body.
'I wonder if I can save Charles from this curse.' Angela thought before Charles gave her a confused look.
"You okay there?" He asked waving a hand in front of her. She blinked before giggling. "I'm sorry, I was zoning out." She said with a smile. Charles smiled warmly at her and finished the rest of his food. After breakfast, everyone was handed out their mission.
Tracer, Mei, Charles(Codenamed: Ghost), Lucio, D. Va, and Genji were one team. They needed to stop a payload being transported underground near an Omnic living area. The enemies in question, more Talon grunts without Reaper, were the ones pushing the payload to the point.
"Okay, Mei you set up on the balcony. Genji and Ghost, you protect to payload while me and D. Va go and soak up the enemy fire." Tracer said. Genji and Ghost nodded and ran off in different directions. Mei ran off as Tracer and D. Va ran head into the fray.
Talon grunts had taken positions above and on either side of the payload. Tracer blinked back and forth. She taunted the grunts while firing away with her pistols. D. Va stood her ground and fired her twin Gatling guns at the bulk of the grunts. Mei stood on the balcony and fired icicles at the grunts heads. Genji threw his shurikens that embedded themselves into the grunts backs.
Ghost was firing away with his pulse rifle. He dived into cover and a searing pain hit his skull. "What now?" He asked the Rider. 'There is one, she waist deep in innocent blood. She needs to be punished.' The Rider hissed.
"Can you sense where she is?" Charles asked before his hand caught fire and pointed towards a building. In the glint of the moonlight, he could see a pair of red lenses glinting.
"How do you suggest we get there?" Charles asked. Feeling his movement freezing, he turned his head to find a beat down, rusted, but still working motorcycle. He sighed and felt the power of the Rider course through him. He skin melting away and leaving his skull that burst into flames along with his hands.
The Rider imbuded his power into the cycle as it changed. The tires burst into flames as the metal morphed into a devilish skull for the headlights. The holes in the skull spit out flames as the cycle revved.
The Rider looked and saw a chain hanging loosely hang. He snatched it down and wrapped it around his chest.
"Let's do this." Charles said. The Rider growled in agreement and sat on the cycle before driving out and cackling manically. The Rider pulled the chain of his chest and flowed his power through the chain and began to slash back and forth, cutting through the grunts to get to this mystery woman. D. Va, Lucio, and Mei stopped their attack as the Rider drove through cutting down grunts left and right.
"What the hell is that?" Lucio asked. "Long story luvs, but for now, concentrate on stoppin' this payload. I hate to see King's Row being the center of something terrible." Tracer replied. As she ran forward, a bullet embedded itself between her feet. She glanced up to see the glint of three red lenses.
"You." She said before blinking off. The figure used it's grappling hook and changed places. As they landed, the roar of a motorcycle was heard behind them. The figure stopped and looked behind them as the Rider stood with his chain in hand.
"You, you're hands are stained with the blood of the innocent. More then enough to make you feel their pain." He said walking over to them. The figure clicked their visor as it split into three to show a blue, slender, woman with striking amber eyes.
"Bonjour monsieur petit." She said in a french accent. The Rider glared and walked over to her. "You have been judged, prepare to meet your fate." He growled. The woman snickered before aiming her rifle and unloading the entire clip into the Rider's stomach.
He looked at her and laughed. "You cannot hurt me. Accept your fate." The Rider growled as the blue assassin backed off before firing her hook and whizzing away. The Rider used his chain and threw it at the flying assassin as the chain wrapped around her waist and pulled her back. With a grunt, the assassin was pulled back and slammed into the wall. The Rider pulled the limp, body of the assassin.
He grabbed her by the throat and looked her in the eyes. "Look into my eyes, feel the pain of the innocents you murdered. Amelie." He growled. Her eyes went wide at the mention or 'Amelie'.
"My name, is Widowmaker demon." She said putting her feet on his stomach and pushing the Rider off of her. Tracer blinked into view and aimed her pistols at the purple clad assassin.
"Well, well, well, look what the cat dragged in. You mind telling me why you're tryin' to raise tensions here?" Tracer quipped. Widowmaker stared at the Rider before glaring at the Brit.
"I don't answer to you, annoyance." She snapped. Tracer looked at her and smirked. "Tell it to the cops." She said walking forward. Widowmaker kicked her in the gut and jumped off the building before shooting her hook and grappling away.
"Oh bloody hell!" She yelled kicking a rock. The Rider looked behind him as the rest of the team stood behind them. Tracer looked at the Rider before following his gaze.
"This, this is a long story." She said raising her hands. Mei walked over and inspected the Rider closely. He snapped his bone mouth at the scientist, causing her to back away.
"You mind telling me why we have a flaming skeleton on our team and why no one told me?" D. Va asked crossing her arms. Lucio nodded. Genji walked forward and placed a hand on his shoulder.
"Actually, I can explain. Tracer here is so dull, she can't seem to explain why she sleeps in." He said as Lena slapped his arm.
"Oh stuff it, you metal bastard." She pouted crossing her arms. Genji looked at the Rider and nodded. The Rider sighed as the fire dissipated and the flesh formed back on his skull as Charles gained control once again.
"Okay, seriously, can someone explain this before I have a mental breakdown?" Lucio said as Charles smiled at them.
