Chapter 15

Charles awoke to Angela snuggled next to him. Her arms wrapped around his chest as she dug her face into his back. He heard the soft snores, telling him she was still asleep. He sighed before closing his eyes again.

Angela cracked an eye open to see Charles still asleep. "He looks so peaceful." She thought stifling a yawn. She felt movement come from the man as he shifted in his spot. Angela giggled lightly until Charles moved to face her.

"Good morning beautiful." He said kissing her forehead. "Good morning liebling." She said with a grin. The two sat up and stretched as they got ready for the day. Charles and Angela walked out to the mess hall, fingers intertwining with each other. Angela leaned her head on his shoulder as the two entered the mess. Agents buzzed back and forth about missions, the latest gossip from Hana, and the all around buzz of family.

Angela and Charles got their food and sat next to David, Jack, and Ana. "Good morning Charlie, hope you're ready for the day." David said patting him on the back.

"Actually, I want to ask you guys something." Charles said placing his fork down. "What is it about?" Jack asked.

"I wanted to start an investigation, from that night." Charles replied. Angela stopped mid chew and looked at Charles. She gulped down her food before clearing her throat.

"You mean, when the ambush happened?" Angela asked. Charles nodded as he began to eat. Angela looked at Ana with a worried look.

"Are you sure? It's been a long time Charlie, I'm sure the area has changed recently." Angela said. Charles placed his fork on the tray and nodded.

"But with the Rider's powers, I could finally find out who knew about it. And get information." Charles growled as his eyes turned a Hellfire shade. Angela sighed before getting up and taking her food to the sink. Charles followed along suite and looked into her eyes.

"Please Angi, this could also help with who took my parents." He pleaded with the Angel. She placed her hand on her forehead as if she had a migraine.

"Fine, I'll go with you." She said crossing her arms. Charles smiled at her before giving her a soft kiss. "Thank you! You have no idea how much this means to me!" Charles giggled with glee. Angela looked into his eyes before cracking a smile. As the two left, David and Jack looked at each other.

"Y'know, I never figured Charles to fall for Angela. I thought he would be with Hana, or Lena." Jack said. Ana smacked Jack's head before continuing with her meal.

"Ow! What was that for?" Jack complained as he rubbed his head. David laughed lightly as the Egyptian woman acted as if she didn't do anything.

"You shouldn't judge someone based on who they love." David quipped. "Shut it Williams." Jack retorted. David and Ana chuckled lightly as the two exchanged fist bumps.

~Charlie and Angela~

"Are you sure about this Charlie? It's been quite a long time. 16 years to be precise." Angela said as the two departed for a dropship.

"I'm sure about this Ange. It'll give me closure on who attacked us, and took my father and mother." Charles replied. The two entered the ship as Charles inputted coordinates for the one place he thought he wouldn't return to. The place he made the deal. Charles jogged down and rolled his motorcycle as he rested it next to the table.

"You think we're going to need that?" Angela asked pointing to the cycle as it leaned lazily on the table.

"Considering the fact it was on an highway, yeah." He pointed out. Angela sighed before sitting on a couch. She looked throughout the bookshelves until a book caught her eye. With a huff, she snatched the book and opened it as she begun to read. Charles closed his eyes to get some rest before they began snooping around for answers.
