Please Excuse Any Mistakes
ABOUT 1 YEAR LATER, BEGINNING OF FRESHMAN YEAR OF COLLEGE (Lacey, Carter, Evan)
CARTER AGE: 17
LACEY, EVAN AGE: 18
GWEN AGE: 17
DEXTER AGE: 20

I finished putting away the rest of the groceries, closing the cupboard door.

I glanced at the large pile of boxes behind me in the living room. Carter and I finally finished unpacking yesterday, which was a big relief.

I pushed my hair behind my ear, noticing how it's grown longer, "Carter? When is Dexter, Gwen and Evan coming over?" I asked him.

"In like 20 minutes," he yelled to me.

I nodded to myself before I folded up the bags from the groceries.

It was going to be weird not going to the same school as Evan.

It was probably strange for Gwen as well, since she still was in high school back at the same school, while Evan was about an hour or two drive away, without traffic, now.
Adjusting to the whole not living at home was going to be the hardest though.

I put the bags in the under the sink cabinet before I turned and went to the couch where Carter was sitting, scrolling through tumblr.

From behind him, I put my hands on his shoulders and rested my chin on the top of his head.

He chuckled, "So, living with me isn't that bad isn't it?" He joked.

I rolled my eyes, climbing over the back of the couch and plopping down next to him, "We've lived together for literally two weeks," I said with a grin.

"Speaking of," he said as he grabbed the vlog camera, that we finally invested in, off from the coffee table.

I glanced around the apartment quickly, suddenly feeling very proud at the sight.

The apartment wasn't very big, only two bedrooms, one bathroom and an open space when you enter that has our living room and our kitchen, along with an island in the kitchen. Of course, Carter and I couldn't afford the whole monthly rent. The amount of money we get from YouTube has increased, but currently, with having to buy so much for school and the apartment, rent was a bit difficult to pay. We both paid most of our share of the rent, but my parents and his mom did have to help out a little bit.

We tried our best to try to make a neat, tumblr inspired apartment. We kept the main colors of grey, cream and white with a few black accents.

The living room followed that exact description. It had the gray couch we were sitting on, along with a cream carpeting and a white coffee table, a creamish-white colored table that our tv was on and a few black items of decor here and there.

The kitchen followed suit, having its small section of the joined room have wood floor. The counters were granite and the cabinets were the same color as the floor, a chocolate brown with lighter brown mixed in. Not my favorite mixture.

The walls in the main room matched the white theme, but Carter made sure that we added colorful things on the walls, ranging from random inexpensive paintings to photos of our friends on a bulletin board and band posters. The decor on the walls was what gave the apartment the 'Carter touch'.

Carter turned on the camera and turned it to us, "Week two in the apartment and we finally have food that isn't pizza," he said, wrapping his arm around my shoulders.

I grinned.

"Both of our rooms are still a mess though, especially mine," he said, peering down the short hall where our rooms are.
