Please Excuse Any Mistakes
3 MONTHS LATER

"I talk to you tomorrow, Lace" Anthony said as I held open the passenger door.

I smiled, "Bye, Anthony" he returned the smile as I shut the car door. He drove off as I walked up to the front door.

Damn, it feels good to be in a relationship.

I opened the door, immediately being greeted with Gwen and Evan sitting on the couch.

I shut the door behind me, catching the attention of the two. Gwen jumped up from the couch and excitedly ran over to me.

I raised an eyebrow.

I heard Evan sigh as Gwen pulled up her sleeve, displaying black ink on her skin.

I gasped as I saw the tattoo, "No way" I said.

She nodded happily, "I w-was able t-t-to" she said joyfully.

I grabbed her arm, angling my head to I could see the tattoo properly. The black ink stuck out against her pale skin.
The tattoo was of a pine tree, a crescent moon above it. There was writing under it, 'les nuits sombres garder un peu éveillé'

I tilted my head at the simple, foreign text.

"I-It means, 'd-dark nights k-eep some a-awake'," she paused, "I-I k-kind of just thought I-it was a m-memorable thing" she said shyly.

"It's actually really cool," I said, leaning closer to her arm to examine it further. It was already healed. Of course I wouldn't have known about it, I haven't seen Gwen for a week or two.

We both gravitated back to the couch as Gwen sat back down next to Evan and I sat a bit of space away.

"Have you talked to Carter?" I asked Evan.

He shook his head, "Hasn't he been busy with Gabbie?" He asked.

I shrugged, "It's just... Weird not having him around all the time. I thought I'd be used to it, they've been dating for a while now. I mean it's still hard to think I'm dating someone, and have been dating them for a couple months"

He snorted, "It didn't take long for me to wrap my head around dating Gwen," he put his arm around her shoulders and pulled her towards him, "And we've been dating for like 7 months, not just like 2" he said smugly.

Gwen laughed as she leaned into him.

I 'awed' at how they acted as the doorbell rang.

I got up to answer it, obviously knowing Gwen nor Evan would answer it.

I opened the door, Dexter walking straight in without an invitation.

I rolled my eyes, "Welcome in then," he tuned around and smiled to me as he fell down onto the chair, propping his still show clad feet on the ottoman.

"I've been in California for a month or two now, I thought you'd be used to it by now," he said simply before he slipped off his sweatshirt and put it on the coffee table, "Where's the rest of the gang?" He asked.

"Don't refer to us all as a 'gang', it reminds me of Scooby Doo" Evan said.

Dexter rolled his eyes as his phone buzzed. He slipped it out of his pocket as I walked back over to the couch.

"Jerry is on his way over" he said, putting his phone with his sweatshirt on the coffee table.

I nodded slowly, remaining silent until I let out my thought, "Dammit, I think he and Macy are gonna break up" I blurted.
