Please Excuse Any Mistakes
-Friday-Carter was sitting in the driver's seat, ecstatic, while I sat in the passenger seat, moping about having to be in a video.
He said I had no way at all of getting out of it. At. All.
Just great.
Peachy.
Just f*cking fantastic.
I have to be in a video I don't even want to be in! And have no way what so ever to get out of it! Why can't Carter get it through his thick sku--
"Stop complaining about the video in your head. You have no way of getting out of this" Carter said.
I groaned in annoyance, "But I like being behind the scenes! Not in the scenes!" I said.
"Ya? Well I want a girlfriend. We both don't get what we want!" He said.
"Wait what? Oooo does little Carter have a crushy wushy?" I said childishly. Oh how he must have hated me right now.
"W-well I-uh. It doesn't matter! Anyways, we're here" he said stuttered.
I rolled my eyes and got out of the car to face the high school.
Home of the, so called, plastics, jocks, outcasts, loners, polar opposites, Carter and I, bitches, sluts, and many more.
Lovely.
Xx
"Can you two stop kissing for one second!?" I yelled to Macy and Jerry who were smooching at our lunch table.
They didn't hear me. Dammit.
"STOP SMOOCHING ON OUR TABLE. YOU ARE GONNA SPREAD COOTIES" I yelled.
The two jumped at my voice, as did Carter. They both backed apart and blushed. They both muttered a sorry.
I noticed that everyone looked towards me. Crap.
My eyes quickly darted to the ground, cheeks, no, face, becoming a tomato.
Carter started laughing.
And then everyone looked away.
How he do that?
Silence fell over our table.
"Things got awkward fast" Jerry muttered.
Macy shot him a look, "Sorry guys, being a couple and all-"
"Nope, no. I don't want to hear about being in a happy relationship when I can't even get a girlfriend" Carter cut them off.
I shook my head at how he was acting.
"Who's the mystery girl anyways?" I questioned.
He shook his head, "You wish you knew" he said smiling smugly.
Why would I be asking if I didn't want to know?
I didn't even bothering replying. There is no point in arguing once Carter has set his point.Xx
Carter had to drop off Macy to her house because Jerry had to go and check in with a teacher for something, along with having to go and find a classmate to borrow his notes.
I'm not complaining, it just delayed my misery of being in a video.
But then I saw Carter's house through the windshield.
Just get through it, it's just a video.
I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding as we parked in his driveway.
I got out, as did Carter, and we walked to the front door. Carter was holding his lanyard in his right hand, swinging it in a circle at his side as we approached.
He stopped swinging his keys so he could unlock the door. He did and we walked inside.
He told me how his mom wasn't home, we didn't have to worry about interruptions, which could have made making the video even longer. We reached Carter's room and started our usual setup, but this time I had to set the camera on a timer.
"What kind of video?" I asked.
"Another Q and A," he answered, "Live tweet one" he paused, "I'm trying to make this easier for you"
I nodded.
I began setting up the tripod and camera, bringing up Twitter, noticing how people were tossing questions left and right.
I went back to the camera, focusing it.
I finished and stepped away from the camera.
Everything was set up. I grabbed my laptop off his desk. It's just a video.
I don't have stage fright.
It's just a video.
Why am I so nervous about a video?
Wh--
"Hey, we need to start, like, now" Carter said, interrupting my thoughts.
I nodded and walked to the camera, setting it to start filming in 2 minutes.
After telling Carter, I took a seat next to him on his bed.I started counting down the 2 minutes we had before it started as I watched Carter check through his Twitter account on my laptop.
I heard the click from the camera, signaling there was 59 seconds.
I quickly fixed my position, sitting with my legs criss-crossed and mentally prepared myself.

"Hey guys! It's Carter and I'm here with a Q and A to celebrate the arrival of the lovely Lacey, my best friend, my partner in crime, my bud, m--"
"Get to the point" I said.
He was still sporting his video grin, "Anyways, Lacey here has never been in a video of mine before. She is usually behind the scenes, working with he camera. These videos probably would be real crappy if it weren't for her. So, this Q and A will be more of a 'Getting to Know Lacey Video'," He continued on with a long ass intro until he got to the point like I said.
"Now, first question. This question is from Luke W. He says, 'this is for Lacey. Do you have a boyfriend? Cause if not, I'm here for ya'. Sorry bud, but I'm real protective over my bestie" he said as he took his free hand and put it around my shoulder.
"I'll just say the answer. No" I said.
Carter removed his arm from around my shoulders and looked for the next random question to appear "Ok, for both of us, are you two... Dating?" He said slowly.
My eyes widened in surprise, "N-no. We have known each other for years, we're best friends. Nothing more" I stuttered.
Carter nodded. He cleared his throat, "next question."
And we continued like this for 5 hours. We got too into the questions and lost track of time. No shame. I guess I became dedicated.
It was 10:00 and my eyes were threatening to close.
I was leaning against the wall that Carter's bed was against. Carter was next to me, my laptop in his lap. He would stop moving his hands every few minutes and his head would lower a bit before it shot up and he continued going through Tumblr.
I watched him, maybe only being a second away from sweet, sweet sleep.
My head started to lean towards Carter. My head fell to his shoulder. My eyes were starting to close. Carter closed his laptop and I felt him relax. His head fell on top of mine.
I fell asleep, the last thing I heard was, 'Good night partner in crime.'
