That moment was perfect. There was only sweet silence, which I liked. When I moved here I thought that this night would never come.
It had seemed like decades since the last time I slept, not in the forest at least. Just me and my bed for once. Sadly that moment ended by someone clashing into my window and nearly breaking the glass, I'm sure whoever it was would have broken glass if the window had been closed all the way. As they fell they also happened to break my foster mothers lamp, which I would get yelled at for later. "Rhydian" the voice whispered, almost excitedly. I knew the intruders scent right away, the only person who would dare to enter my room. Maddy. I groaned and sat up "what the hell madz", a grin spread across her face as she reached over and hit the light switch on my wall. My eyes squinted as the light turned on, making the room visible
"Rhydian! Next weeks Christmas!" she cheered, jumping onto my bed and doing all she could to wake me up. "And yer tellin me why?" I grumbled, her smile grew as she said "because you have to get me a present, and now you know!".
"That's great madz, now can I go back to sleep?" I yawned, "Yea, rhyd? could I stay here till morning" she spoke suddenly, looking at me with her puppy dog eyes. "Yea...Whatever ya want madz" I answered, my mind drifting off to sleep. She seemed to sigh happily and tuck herself under my beds covers, snuggling into my chest. My eyes opened to look down at her, I smiled at her before wrapping a arm around her and falling asleep. I think I could get used to this.
