Chapter 8

****

"So, Princeton Girl, would you tell me who you are if I guessed it right?" He asked me. We were under a padio, dancing. His arms were wrapped around my waist, holding me lightly, while my hands were at his neck. I don't really know how we started dancing, but I couldn't refuse.

"Maybe," I admitted. I was still afraid of him finding out who I was, and not liking it. "Maybe?" He questioned. While I nodded my head. "Well, how about we play 20 questions?" He suggested.

"How about 10?" He smirked at me slightly. "I'll take what I can get," We danced in a little circle, and I tried not to look into his eyes. His big green eyes, the eyes I'd probably get lost into. "Okay, first question," He said. "You do actually go to Forks High School, right?"

I chuckled at that. "Of course,"

He nodded his head. "Look I'm just checking!" He defended. "I mean, you never know with the internet." He said. "Okay, next question," I told him. We spun in another circle. "Were you disappointed when you found out that I was Nomad?" He asked me.

I thought about it. Surprised, yes? But disappointed? "Be honest," He said. "Surprisingly, no," I admitted. "Did you vote for me for student body president?" I couldn't help but chuckle a bit. "Surprisingly, yes." I answered.

"Really?" He whispered. "Okay, I got it. Given the choice, would you rather have a rice cake, or a Big Mac?" I stared at him confused, the question was random. Why would he want to know? "A Big Mac. But what does that matter?" I asked him.

"Well, I like a girl with a hearty appetite. And besides, you just eliminated about 50 percent of the girls in our class," He said. We both laughed, but once he stroked my cheek I stopped laughing. I stared at him, into his eyes.

"You'd think I'd remember those eyes," He muttered to himself. "You're so beautiful," Almost like in a daze, we continued to stare at each other, then I snapped out of it. "Next question?" I asked him. "If I asked you to dance does that count as a question?" He asked. I couldn't help but laugh again.

"Were already dancing!" We both looked down at our feet, and both started laughing again. "Do you believe in love at first sight?" He asked me. "I'll let you know," I told him. We continued dancing. "I've seen you before?" He asked, and I nodded my head. "Yes,"

"Man. How could I have seen you before and not know who you are now?" He asked. I don't know if he was asking himself or to me, but I answered anyways. "Maybe you were looking, but you weren't really seeing," I suggested?

"You've got one more question left," I reminded him. He nodded his head, and he bent me back. "Do you, Princeton Girl, feel like you made the right choice meeting me here tonight?" He stared into my eyes, and I couldn't help but get lost in his. "I do," I whispered.

He lifted us back up, so we were straight again. We stopped dancing, and just stared at each other. "And do you, Edward Cullen, ever wanna see me again after tonight?" I asked him in a serious tone. I actually wanted to know.

"I'd have to think about that," He joked, winking at me. He held me tighter. "Absolutely," He said, leaning in closer to me. I was in a daze, all I could think about were his eyes. The way his lips parted like he wanted to kiss me. Then suddenly, something started beeping.

It took me a few seconds to realize it was my phone. "Not now," I groaned. He never let go of me. "What?" He asked curiously. I moved out of his arms. "I've gotta go," I said sadly. He stared at me confused. "You have a curfew or something?" He asked.

I nodded my head. If only that were the case! "Something like that," I muttered, I backed away from him. "I'm sorry, but thank you. This has been  the most amazing night." I told him, it was the truth. I wished it didn't have to end. "Where are you going?" He asked me.

"I'm late!" I started walking away. "For what?" He asked. I sighed, walking faster. "Reality," I muttered, and then I was off. I ran away from him, and back into the dance. I tried to find Alice, but I couldn't. She wasn't at the bar anymore, so I had to look else where.

When I finally found her, I noticed her in a room with a bunch of people. She was in the middle of the crowd dancing with some guy. Once I reached her, I grabbed a hold of her. "Hey! I was in the middle of a power jam!" She whined.

"Hello! It's almost midnight!" the announcer said into a microphone. I pointed up at the clock. Alice's eyes widened, and she moved through the crowd with me. "And that means it's time to announce who we have selected!"

I didn't care who got selected, I just had to get out of here and fast. "Now the moment you have all been waiting for..." the announcer said. Everyone went quiet. I lost Alice then, she disappeared from sight. "Alice? Alice. Alice, come on!" I called, and grabbed her hand. We ran to the stairs.

"Your new Forks High homecoming prince and princess... "

We rushed up the stairs. "I'm gonna be late!" I told her.

"Are Prince Charming and Cinderella!" The announcer said. I froze for a moment, and stared at the stage. Edward was in the middle of it, He suddenly saw me, and started coming towards the stairs.  "Bravo! There he is! Bravo! Looks like Cinderella is playing hard to get." The announcer said.

"Hurry up!" Alice called from a distance. I raced towards her, but suddenly felt my mask coming off. I didn't have time to fix it, before it just fell off my face and landed on the floor. I didn't look back at him, I just raced towards the car Alice was in.

As he raced up the stairs, he saw her leaving the building. He didn't even get a chance to say goodbye! He walked up the stairs, and then noticed something white on the ground. He walked over to it, and noticed it was Cinderella's mask!

He bent down and picked it up, staring at it. He was going to find out who she was, even if it was the last thing he did.
