When I woke up the next morning I grabbed my phone to see I had a couple texts.

Jessie Walker 1:45
Girl! How was your first day of work!? You never told me how it went!

Luke Bryan 6:03
Hey Ms. Boyd. I have a commitment at 2 today... Can we meet for a lunch meeting instead? Let me know ASAP.

I sighed while squinting at the overly bright screen and quickly unlocked my phone before typing back.

Me 6:15
Yeah. That's fine. When and where? And call me Carrie.

I rolled out of bed and quickly got ready for the day with a record time. When I got to work Tyler was just walking in with his normal smile on his face.

"Good morning Ms. Carrie. How was your night last night," he asked placing his coffee down on his desk.

"It wasn't that bad. Didn't do much, mostly relaxed," I informed sitting down at my desk as I opened the laptop on my desk. "Oh, and I came up with some great ideas to help Luke's market share improve."

Tyler nodded. "Damn, you really work hard. Okay... So I have a question," Tyler said as he looked over at me and took a sip from his coffee.

"And what is that question," I replied raising an eyebrow over at me.

"Yesterday you said that for your 21 birthday you went to Vegas... And that it was 13 years ago... Are you really 34," he asked with a slight blush rolling into his cheeks.

I nodded, "Well, I'm 33, my birthday is in December. Yes, I know I'm old to have an internship right now; but it seemed like the best option. I love Milwaukee but nothing was holding me to it so I left. Now I guess I'll find internships until I find an area in the US that I like. So far, I love Nashville."

Tyler nodded with a look of surprise on his face, "As much as you love marketing I wouldn't have thought that."

I gave him a look and let out a long huff, "I know. I also have no one to hold me down. My parents moved up north when I graduated and I only had my best friend in Milwaukee before I left."

"Well, that's interesting. Maybe you'll meet someone here and you'll want to stay," Tyler replied innocently.

I chuckled and closed my laptop so I could turn my full attention to him. "Those chances are slim to none. Besides, I'm here to work right now, not find a boyfriend."

"You've got a lot more going for you than you think Carrie," He replied and stood up from his desk with his travel mug in hand. "I'm going to grab some coffee, do you want some?"

I shook my head, "Nah, I'm good, thanks tho Tyler."

We sat in the office in silence for about 45 minutes until my phone went off signaling that I had a text. I sighed and pulled it out of my purse, putting it on vibrate.

Luke Bryan 10:01
At 11:45ish just walk out the main doors of the Hall Of Fame and look for the Black Silverado.

I rolled my eyes. I swear if he's trying something with me...

Me 10:02
Okay

I just left it at that. I sighed and went back to my work, trying to develop a proper target market that could possibly work for Luke. He'd obviously have to approve of it though.

After a while of just brainstorming my phone vibrated on my desk again.

Luke Bryan 11:48
Are you coming or am I just waiting here for my own health.

My eyes went wide as soon as I saw the text. I quickly got everything together and put is in a briefcase. When I walked out the slick looking Chevy with tinted windows was waiting for me.

I walked up to the truck and yanked the door open. Luke was sitting there scrolling through something on his phone. When he saw me he looked up with a large smile on his face.

"Hi there Ms. Boyd. Thank you for switching around your schedule," Luke thanked as I slammed the door shut and buckled.

"It's not problem, Mr. Bryan," I emphasized saying Mr. Bryan as I sat there awkwardly.

"I told you to call me Luke," he replied as he turned on some random street. His southern drawl was so, so attractive and such a turn on.

"Not until you call me Carrie instead of Ms. Boyd," I shot back and crossed my arms.

Luke let out a chuckle, "If you say so Carrie. How was your day yesterday? I hope it was good."

"It was great. How about you," I asked stiffly, not knowing what to do. This was a mistake. I shouldn't have agreed. I should've just rescheduled.

"Not bad," he mumbled as he came to a stop at the stop light, "Are you okay? You seem really tense right now."

"I-I'm fine Luke," I informed and let out a sigh trying to calm myself down. What possessed me to say yes?

"Are you sure? If you're not feeling well I can take you back to your work," he told me with wide eyes as he hit the gas.

"N-no I'm perfectly fine, Luke. Just... Just a wave of tiredness ran over me," I lied as I leaned back into my seat.

"Alright," he mumbled unsure, "Uh here is our stop actually." Luke pulled into a street spot and shifted the car into park. I looked out the window-Mexican food. "I hope you like Mexican," he added.

"I sure do. One of my favorite types of food," I informed as I swung the door opened and hopped out.

"Oh good, I'm glad. I was afraid you wouldn't like Mexican. Now, let's head on in," he said as the two of us made our ways to the front of the place.

Once we were sat at a table I pulled out my briefcase and placed it on the table to take my papers out.

Luke raised an eyebrow, "Darlin' we don't need to talk about that 'til after we're done eating. Now, Carrie, tell me about yourself."

I sighed and put my briefcase on the booth next to me, "well, I've been in marketing for about 14 years now. I quit my last job because I just didn't like the environment anymore. Now I think I'll just get internships until I find a place I like. And to be honest, Nashville is so nice. Oh and I'm 33 right now."

Luke let out a chuckle, "That's great Carrie... But I meant your personal life, like where are you from, what's your favorite color and what's your favorite sport."

"Oh... Okay... So my name is Carrie Boyd, I went to University of Green Bay, My favorite sport is hockey, my favorite color is red and I'm from Milwaukee, Wisconsin," I informed, unsure of how I should've said the last part.

Luke's eyes went extremely wide when I said Milwaukee. He then had a twisted confused look playing on his face and his brown eyes looked sad. "Milwaukee," he asked barely audible.

"Luke are you okay," I asked slightly worried because of his sudden change in mood.

"Er yeah... just... Thinking of someone," he replied and quickly took a sip of the water that was in front of him.
