Jaimie POV
The silver light died down, and the werewolves went wide-eyed. They then started bowing and kissing the ground mumbling things like 'Praise the Moon Goddess!' or 'If the Moon Goddess is here we're either lucky or screwed!' My aunt must have just hidden behind a tree because she came running back towards me.
"Jaimie! Are you alright? I couldn't leave you s-so I hid."
I barely heard her because I was still shocked that there was an actual deity standing right in front of me. She even looked to be my age! However, she had tan skin, brown hair, and grey eyes. She looked at me and smiled. Me, being an idiot and not knowing what to do I did a curtsy. The Moon Goddess then turned her attention to the wolves that had almost attacked us. When she spoke it held power, which even made me flinch.
"What are you doing here rogues? This young girl did nothing to you. I guess I found the rouges that were attacking young girls and killing them." I swear, they paled even more...if that was even possible. "Do you have an explanation? Even if you do, you'll be slain. One way will be easier than the other. It will be by my hand or another horrid beasts'."
That's it, no more rogue life for you!
The head rogue spoke, "M'lady, we only wanted to have a uh bit of fun?" It sounded more like a question than an answer.
The Moon Goddess didn't seem to like that answer very much, and that guy went up in flames. He didn't scream because it was more of a vaporize I guess you could say?
She then turned to the other two who looked even more terrified. "Well?" She asked and seemed a little impatient.
The other two rouges just stared at her in shock.
The Moon Goddess had a small smirk on her face before saying, "Very well then, you suffer from another beasts' hand, and it won't be fast like your friend's,"she said pointing to where he had been.
They then ran off into the woods as fast as their feet would carry them.
The Moon Goddess then looked at me. Now that I could see her clearly, she had shoulder length hair, and kind features now that she wasn't dealing with people who were killing. (That didn't make her any less scary though.) She was wearing a sliver shall that stopped at her waist. There were silver bow and arrows coming out of a quiver on her back. For bottoms she had a silver skirt with silver leggings. She cleared her throat which got me out of my trance.
"Jaimie, I have been watching you with much interest for the past few years. You have shown me that one, you respect me, two, are independent, three, you are caring about nature and who's around you unless they start it, and four, you are willing to die for the ones you love. May people don't possess those qualities any more. Especially not my breed of werewolves. If you would be so kind to accept my off that would make you one of them, and maybe you'll be able to change the direction it's going in. I know you absolutely adore not only wolves, but werewolves." On top of that, she smiled.
I couldn't believe what was going on. She's offering to turn me into a werewolf? I've always wanted to be one! I may never get this chance again!
"Of course M'lady. I would be honored." I returned her smile.
"I, the Moon Goddess, give you the power to shift into a wolf whenever needed or desired. May you protect the innocent from evil, and may you find peace and happiness too."
After she said that I started to glow. Soon, I was engulfed in the light and I could feel myself becoming stronger, faster, and smarter. As the light died down I gasped at how easy that was.
"Thank you Moon Goddess. I will do my best...I'll try my best not to fail you." I said.
She smiled at me, "Jaimie, I know you won't fail me. Soon you
will shift, and your wolf should be in here-" she pointed to my head. "If you ever need help, she will be there guiding you. Do you know what sacrifices you may have to face? You will also have to find a mate. Your life won't be any easier, but it shouldn't be more than you can handle. Now, try an contact your wolf and introduce yourself. You mustn't tell anybody unless you REALLY trust them...and control your anger. I must go. I have other duties to attend to. I'll still be watching you though." The Moon Goddess said with a wink and disappeared in a flash of sliver light. She was gone almost as soon as he came.
I took a deep breath. Great, now my fictional world has come to life.
'Hey! We're not fictional! I'm just as real as you are!'
I jumped when I heard a female yelling at me in my head, but then I remembered its my wolf. I think we've gotten off on the wrong foot.
'Ya think?!' She said.
'I'm sorry, for me this is a lot to process. I'm Jaimie. You are?'
'My name is Hope. You'll be able to feel everything I feel. If I pace, then it's generally not a good thing. I'll also be able to feel what you do, but with me, all of your senses are heightened.'
That last part worried me, but I can't argue with her. 'Ok. So, if I'm being bullied you'll feel me pissed off and try to come forward?'
'Hell yes. Nobody disrespects us.' she left after saying that.
Well, I hope this doesn't complicate life more than it already is...but, of course, I'm always wrong.
