Chapter twenty-nine: The Feeling of Being Watched

Read author's note at the end. It's fairly important!

Jaimie POV (Two years Later)

Today is the day! Ever since I got put into all A.P classes my high school credits have been coming in like crazy. So much so that I've even skipped a grade and I am getting ready to walk across the stage and graduate. Josh and I are running around the pack house like crazy. We're getting the ones that are graduating with us ready for the occasion and Josh's dad is setting up a party for afterwards. It still hasn't sunken in that even though I'm sixteen, I'm graduating as a senior. Never in a million years did I think that this would happen to me!

Once I'm for sure that I'm ready I start looking for Josh to let him know that we can start to head out. I tried mind-linking him, but he's blocked me out for some reason. I frowned feeling sad that my mate would do such a thing. It's not like him. I continue my search when I come across his soon-to-be office when I hear him speaking to someone over the phone. I didn't mean to eavesdrop, but my legs wouldn't move.

"You tell him that I'm not giving anybody up to that bastard. Not even my own mate! If I see him or hear that he is still stalking her I will rip his heart out and feed it to the sharks!"

I couldn't believe this. Someone was stalking me? Well, I guess it seems plausible since I've been constantly feeling like I'm being watched. It's the weirdest feeling ever. It makes me constantly feel like I have to watch my back.

I finally regain the ability to move my legs and make a run for the car. I don't even know what Josh says or the guy on the other end continue talking about because all I want to do at the moment is be as far away from that office as possible. Soon after, Josh appears and I can tell what the guy on the phone said was getting to him.

"I know you heard what I said. I could-my wolf could smell you. That was a bad part of the conversation to walk in on. I'm sorry that you had to hear that. However, today is supposed to be a day of celebrating freedom from school. Let's go, shall we?"

I nod and say, "I'm sorry for eavesdropping like that. Its just I heard your voice and then I couldn't move. I feel so ba-"

I was about to explain more, but he caught me off guard by kissing me. I gasped and he chuckled. He knows I hate being cut off mid-sentence like that. He still enjoys doing that to me though. I found myself smiling into the kiss anyways. It was starting to turn into something else, but it was cut off with a knock on the car window from Josh's dad, Drake.

"Alright son, save the mating until after the party."

I giggle and roll my eyes. Drake loves to tease us. He's like a little kid who just found out that their best friend "likes" somebody. Josh just looks at his dad with a playful glare.

"Ya know, I seem to remember hearing you and mom mate an awful lot when I was little. Yet when we try to do that, it's wrong." Josh teases back.

Drake sticks his tongue out and walks off with his wife and mate to their car. I turn to Josh and just laugh.

"What? What's so funny?"

"The fact that you two act like little kids."

"What? No we don't," He whines a little.

"Do too."

"Do not."

"Just start the car. We're going to be late."

Josh sticks his tongue out at me and starts the car. He puts it into gear and we zoom off to the school that will be giving me my diploma and freedom.

The ceremony was amazing. Every time one of the pack members' names were called, the adults in the pack would scream. When Josh's name, along with myself, were called the cheers were five times louder because he is the future alpha and I am the future luna. Also, we've added quite a few members because they received the same blessing that I did. That was also another amazing thing.

Now, we're at the party at the pack house and let me tell you, a lot of the newly grads are getting drunk. Josh decided not to drink because he didn't want to end up hurting me unintentionally. We are currently holding hands and Josh is introducing me to pack members that I have not had a chance to meet just yet.

Someone pokes me in the sides and I let out a small yelp. Josh immediately puts me behind him until he sees that it was Alex. I give her a playful glare and then smile.

"We're finally out of high school!" I exclaim.

"You bet! What are going to do now?"

She gives me one of those 'lets make trouble' kind of looks. I give her my best 'disapproving' look. Alex giggles at me and then asks if she can speak with me alone. Josh reluctantly agrees to it.

"We've been getting calls from this weird guy. We didn't realize who he was until he asked about you. It dawned on me that it was you father. He says he "Needs you for an alpha that he made a deal with years ago." I of course told him where he could shove it because you told me how much of a bastard he was to you. The alpha has also called us. He was trying to get me to tell him your whereabouts. Will and I didn't tell him anything. What I'm trying to say is Josh is trying to keep you safe, but just to make sure keep looking over your shoulder when you are out in the open. This is going to get dangerous, and very bloody very quickly. I'm sorry to unload this all on you now, but you needed to know."

I nodded shocked by the fact that my bastard of a father was pulling shit like this. He acted like a child, but doing something like this? Something does not seem right here...

Josh came back shortly after Alex was done explaining the situation and wrapped his arm around my waist. I loved the feeling of his strong arms on me. They make me feel safe. He leans down close to my ear.

"Let's get out of here and go somewhere more private." He whispers so only I can hear.

His breath tickled my ear and I couldn't help but say yes. I was ready for the mating process. Hell, it feels like I've been waiting too damn long.

Josh announces that he and I are leaving. Instead of going inside like I thought we were going to, he takes me to the car and drives out to where he and his family vacation. It was a couple of miles from the pack house so that meant it was in the middle of the woods. However, that doesn't bother me. In fact, it calms me.

Josh parks the car, opens my door, and carries me bridal style to one of the master bedrooms we shared when we've stayed there during vacations. He then shuts the doors and turns to me. I look up at him and smile.

"Come here big boy, it feels like we've waited too long to do this."

"That was exactly what I was thinking."

He leans down and kisses me. This one is hungry for me, unlike any of the other kisses that we've shared before. His kisses then travel down my jaw and to my neck. He picks me up again and sets me down gently on the king sized bed. From there on, things got very heated very quickly.

I'm really sorry for not updating! Things in my house have gotten crazy and school/life have gotten in the way. I hope this made up for it though! Let me know if this seems short. I tried to make it long for y'all though to try and make up for not being a very good author! Also, for those who are reading I'm An Elemental Werewolf, Wolfheartcp cannot co-author.
