Chapter twenty: Nobody Touches Her

Jake POV

"What the fuck do you want with my mate!" I growled again.

I was getting pissed because he wouldn't answer my question and my wolf wasn't too happy with that.

"Why should I tell you? She should be my mate and she didn't do what her daddy told her." He said disrespectfully.

I lost it. Nobody disrespects my mate like that. I must've punched him so hard because next thing I know, he's unconscious. Jack must've taken over before I could even react. I turned back to her, and she still looked terrified.

"Hey look, I'm sorry if I scared you. I didn't even realize what happened until after it happened. I'll call for my pack members to come and take him to the cells." I stated calmly.

She nodded, still scared. I mind-linked the guards and they came as soon as possible. They took him away and just left me alone with my mate. For awhile we just stood there. I don't think she wanted to talk either, and neither did I. However, I needed to break the silence.

"My name is Jake, and you are?"

"Rebecca. Or, you could call me 'Bec' for short." She said quietly.

"Well, let's get you cleaned up and tell Alpha Josh that you are my mate."

"O-ok, he's not going to hurt me right?" Bec asked getting scared again.

"No, he has his own mate. She's very nice and he doesn't harm anyone unless they deserve it." I explained.

She nodded. Bec looked like she was contemplating something. However, it was gone as soon as it came.
