Jake POV
It feels so great to be back at the pack house! I can't believe it didn't take long to for the pack to figure out that I was missing. They generally don't pay their Pack Warrior much attention because we don't get attacked often. I checked back in with Alpha Josh to see if I was needed and he told me to wait until he got back. So, I decided to take a walk through our patrol. They didn't mind, they usually don't bother me unless there is a dangerous rogue which doesn't often much.
However, the one time I decide to take a walk I hear a blood curdling scream. I take off in a run towards the sound. It's my instinct to protect my pack so I have to go check out the danger. As I got closer I smelled this wonderful scent. It smelled like cotton candy with a bit of strawberries. My wolf is going crazy to find the source of this wonderful smell. He finally found it and howled with glee.
The most beautiful girl was standing there. She had caramel brown hair and sea-green eyes. I looked closer at her face and saw that she had freckles all across her face. My wolf was all excited. He couldn't stop howling. I started to approach the girl and she did the same. I looked her full on in the eyes and my wolf barely had control.
"Mate," he whispered.
The girl smiled at me and in reply whispered, "Mate."
She giggled, and was about to say something else, but was interrupted with a loud growl. I immediately got her behind me a growled back in reply.
"Show yourself!" I demanded.
"Who says?" Said a very cocky voice that was male.
I growled this next part, "Says the Pack Warrior of the Silver Creek Pack."
"Oh, I have the honor of meeting the pack warrior." He sneered as he came out from behind a tree.
"What do you want with my mate?!" I growled. My wolf is definitely not happy.
The other guy just chuckled. I gave him a warning growl before I was going to let my wolf (Jack) take over.
"I was just chasing the girl who should be my mate." He growled back.
Oh hell no! NOT GOING TO HAPPEN! She is mine. The Moon Goddess made her for me. Not some sleaze bag who calls himself a rogue.
"What makes you say that?!" I said through gritted teeth.
"Because, we have a certain pack policy that she didn't obey."
