Sobbing softly on her bed, Y/N L/N became oblivious to the world.
"Y/N? Y/N can I come in?" A Southern accent asked. "Look, if you ain't comim' out, I'll come on in!" Bones said with faked ferocity, fake because it was covering up the genuine concern that he had for the second youngest crew member., who had become like a little sister to him. Just as he began to input his medical override, the sliding doors crept open.
"Y/N! Thank god! The rest of the crew and I thought you'd gone into depression or something!" Bones stopped and noticed that she had messy hair, red eyes, and wasn't in her Uniform.
"Whatddya want Bones?"
"Why are you crying?"
"Because I've found something horrible out!"
"What is it!?"
"My dad went back in time and died in the 20th century, fighting in the 2nd world war and it's almost November 11, as Earth calls it, which for the longest time in the 21st century, was known as Remembrance Day, it was used to remember all those who died in that war, an my dad did so now I'm sad knowing the real reason he died and that no one will ever appreciate what he did for the world." She sniffled. Shocked, Bones did nothing but stare. A sob racked her body, and she turned, and walked away. Bones followed her in, prepared to comfort the distressed 19 year old. She looked back at him and burst into another round of hysterical sobs, and flopped forwards onto her bed, falling onto her face. Bones rolled his eyes, and huffed.
"Look kid, it's not that bad. Ok? So what? Look, come back to work and I'll see what I can see what I can do." She sniffled.
"Do about what."
"You'll see." And so Bones set off to find a lot of poppies, and force them on the crew.
Le Time Skip
I walked out of my quarters and began to walk briskly to the bridge to see the captain. On my way there, I walked by 13 different people wearing poppies. All of them saluted me. Odd I thought. As I got to the bridge, Every crew member on the bridge was wearing a poppy. I gasped as they saluted me, even the captain.
"Ms. L/N, you were in distress, Dr. Bones thought it would be best if we celebrated this so called "Remembrance Day" in order to cheer you up. " I looked up at the normally emotionless face of the second in command.
"Thank you." I whispered. Then louder I continued, "Thank you all!" And with my new found adrenaline I kissed the half-breeds face. Blushing deep green he muttered,
"Happy Remembrance Day Y/N." and kissed me on the lips. It may have only been a small peck on the lips, but it was magical. Smiling simply to myself I muttered a quick,
"Happy Remembrance Day Spock." In response.
