Lana's P.O.V

Marina and I sat on the couch, across from her mom, Esther. We were discussing Marina and my possible future in College in London next year. I also figured I should tell her that I had run away from my parents.

"Oh honey I knew that!" Esther smiled after I told her. "I figured that out when you had been sleeping here for a week. But really, all this fighting over college? They know Marina's dad would take really good care of you, right?" She lit a cigarette, I shrugged. "I don't understand why they're being like this, my sister Chuck is over in Germany. And it's not like they care about me anyway." I gazed down to the floor. I could feel that the tears were going to come soon.

Marina knows me too well. She knows my every flaw, my every weakness. She pulled me into a hug before the tears started streaming down my cheeks. "Oh honey! Have they called you since you left?" the caring mother asked. I shook my head. I lay there in Marina's embrace, she stroked my hair gently. I buried my head in her hoodie, not caring that her mom was a few feet away. Knowing that she probably didn't care either. I think she knew, she seems to know everything. And then it happened.

"I can see that Marina cares deeply about you. You're a sweet girl Lana. I'll go speak to your parents and see what they say, okay? If they agree then I will fly to London to arrange everything with Marina's dad."
I nodded. "Thank you"

My parents magically agreed, the sort of thing that only happens in movies. It didn't feel real. Anyways, they basically disowned me. They agreed to let me go, and agreed to pay for everything, apparently. I haven't heard from them since I left a week ago. Marina and I both want to major in music, but we'll see what happens. I don't really care, as long as I'm with Marina.
