"Liz you can't just jump out of a moving vehicle!" Alex raised his voice and I wiggled away from his grip. I began sprinting across the parking lot, trying my hardest to stay ahead of Alex so he wouldn't get in the way.
"Don't you raise your voice at me! My sister-in-law is giving birth to my first nephew and you want me to take my time? I will cut you!" I yelled back, racing through the accumulation of cars. A petrified scream left me as a car slammed on brakes, almost clipping my hip. I stood there paralyzed, staring at the car blankly. Alex moved me across to the sidewalk, cupping his hands on my face.
"Liz are you okay?" He frantically asked.
"Y-yes... I'm fine." I replied dumbstruck. He pulled me against him closely, not seeming to want to let go of me. When he finally released me I turned toward the doors. "Come on. We need to hurry up." I called over my shoulder. I didn't have time to waste discussing how I felt about almost dying.
"Hello, how may I help you today?" The lady behind the desk greeted me. I stood there for a minute, trying to remember exactly what I was here for.
"I'm here for my sister-in-law. Jordan Biersack. She's in labor and I really need to get to her. She wanted me to be there with her." I frantically responded and she immediately started typing things in on her laptop before she looked up with a warm smile.
"Room 306. Third floor. Have a great day and congrats on becoming an aunt." She replied in a sweet tone, so robotic sounding it made me sick. That's basically all she's paid to do though. Can't get mad about that I guess.
I found my way to the elevator as Hunter and Harry both caught up to me and Alex, out of breath and shooting me confused looks. I didn't reply, I just pushed the button for the third floor. Right as the doors started to shut a younger, quite handsome guy slid in. He doubled over, wheezing and I bent, placing a hand to his back.
"Are you okay?" I questioned and was relieved when he nodded and stood up. He stuck a hand against the wall to his right for support as he looked down at me, still struggling to breathe but getting air again.
"Thank you. My sister is giving birth in room 301 and she really wanted me to be there for support. I ran in as fast as I could." He grinned as I laughed, crossing my arms across my chest.
"I understand. My brothers wife, who is one of my best friends, is giving birth just down the hall in room 306. Stressful, I know." I replied and smiled up at him. His hazel eyes were caught just right by the light and looked a golden yellow for a split second. His dark brown hair was spiked up and he had his lip pierced on both sides but his attitude wasn't like the ornery punk rock kids I had dealt with.
"I'm Lizzy Gaskarth but you can call me Liz." I stuck my hand out and he shook it lightly.
"Daniel Augustine. You wouldn't happen to be related to Alex Gaskarth would you?" He answered, clearly not aware that anyone else was in the elevator with us. I couldn't help but grin and I felt as if Alex thought the exact same thing as me when a muffled chuckle sounded behind me, followed by an arms snaking around my waist.
"I am his wife." I responded, lifting my hand up to show off the ring. Daniels face lit up. "And I'm not quite sure if you've noticed but um he is right behind me." I giggled, gazing up into my holders eyes. Daniels gaze shifted and his eyes grew wide.
"I'm a huge fan. Not going to lie, me and my sister both are. I just want to thank you." He scratched at the back of his neck for a moment, his cheeks growing red.
"No problem. But I have to ask. Why are you thanking me?"Alex spoke up. Daniel acted scared at first, like he wasn't sure how to respond.
"You saved my sisters life." He replied in a hushed, low tone and I saw the empathy in Alex, his eyes seemed pained for a while.
"No problem." The only thing he could get out was no problem and for some odd reason I wanted to cradle him in my arms. It seemed like he held a secret or two and I wanted to comfort him for once. We talked a little after we reached the third floor before we parted ways but as soon as we came upon room 306 I heard screams in agony and a tear threatened to paint my cheek. Everyone but myself continued to the waiting room, leaving my gripping the icy door handle. I released a heavy sigh and opened the door.
"Hey honey, how are you holding up." I greeted Jordan and she laughed almost bitterly, sweat trickling down her neck as she panted. I could already tell that baby Carson was going to give me one heck of a headache and this was not going to be like Hunters birthing experience.
"I'm hanging in there. Ready for this watermelon to come out and stop giving mama a hard time." She laughed, holding back tears as she laid her head against the pillows. "I guess it's worth it though." She added and winced, whimpering again. I leaned down and kissed her forehead, wiping the hair from her face.
"I promise it is. Andy, mind stepping out for a second to smoke so I can speak to you?" I shot him that outside-now look that mom used to use on us and he stood up, brushing past me to the door. I stepped out behind him and closed the door.
"How has she been? How much longer does she have?" I asked and began walking toward the end of the hallway. Andy remained silent all the way to the elevator. And refused to answer once again all the way to the front. "Dang it. Andrew Dennis Biersack. Answer me! You haven't spoken for the last five minutes!" I fussed, taking a hit off my cigarette. He took one off his, finally placing his crystal blues orbs on me.
"You think I'm a good guy right?" He spoke softly.
"Yes Andrew. What are you trying to say?" I walked up and stood in front of him.
"I don't want to let her down Liz. Her or Carson. They're my life and I don't want to screw up." He dropped his head and I put out my cigarette, wrapping my arms tightly around his thin torso. He hugged me back, chuckling.
"You won't. You've never let me down and you won't let Jordan down. Just be a good dad to Carson. For me." I replied into his chest, my voice being muffled. "Now lets go have a baby." I laughed and we headed back up. Woo hoo for babies right?
As soon as we made it back the doctor gave us the news that Jordan was ready to start pushing. I reached for her hand, Andy taking the other. Just as the doctor finally finished prepping her, he looked up at me.
"Are you sure you can handle this?" Did he really ask me that?
"Yes. I saw my cousin give birth to two little girls writhing minutes apart. This is a walk in the park." I smirked.
"NOT FOR ME!" Jordan screamed as the doctor told her to push. Once again. SO! MUCH! BLOOD!
Fifteen freaking minutes of Jordan pushing. Countless screams and cries in pain. Almost losing my hand might I add and finally. Carson Andrew Biersack greeted the world. My baby piranha was six pounds-seven ounces. And I smiled as soon as I saw his little body wrapped tightly in a blanket, tiny hands search the air for new feelings.
"Hey baby." I cooed, bouncing him lightly as Jordan finally dozed off, Andy close behind her. "One of these days you're going to have a cousin. And you can protect her from jerks. But first, uncle Alex has to give her the talk." I laughed when I heard someone clear their throat from behind me.
"I heard that." Alex whispered in my ear, looking at Carson over my shoulder.
"I know idiot."
