I sat in English trying to think of what my next essay will be about. We had to do a report before the holidays, it had to be from a journalist's point of view. I did mine on Bullying and Homophobia in the school. Sadly Aaron is in my class and I have no idea what he wrote his report about, not that I care. That is until I a news letter was passed out to the class. My jaw dropped when I saw it.

TEEN PREGNANCY: BY AARON DUTRA.

This year quit a few teen girls have fallen victim to unsafe sex. They are children having children. But why?! There is a group of five girls in the school that have gotten pregnant at the same time. Does that seem suspicious? That all five just happen to be friends. There are rumours going around that teen girls are making pacts within their clique of friends that they will become teen parents. I don't understand why they want to be teen parents? We're not suitable for caring for a baby. We have part time jobs and and school. We don't need to have any more pressure put on us.

You want to know who I blame? The schools, ever since they started a teen parenting programme, teen pregnancies have sky rocketed. I went around and asked teens two simple questions. Have you had sex? And was it safe? Over 8O% of teens in New Jersey schools say they've had sex but of that 8O only 15% said it was safe.  If only the teen parenting programme didn't exsit then we would have to worry about bumping baby bumps in the hall or having to take labour and delivery classes. I want to know what makes having a baby at such a young age so appealing? I want to know what do teen parents see when they take care of their baby while studying for exams.

I instantly knew Kat was going to be on top of this. She was going to be writing a report back to Aaron about this.
