~Cassidy~
I still remember the talk I had with my mom a couple months ago. It was fresh in my mind.
-6 months earlier-
I sat on the couch in my living room. A glass of flavoured water sat on the table in front of me. I could feel Bethany moving around happily tapping me, letting me know she's there. I smiled happily.
"You are my sunshine, my only sunshine. You make me happy when skies are grey. So please don't take my sunshine away." I sang quietly to my baby girl. My gaze was caught by my mom coming in and sitting in the chair in front of me. She wore a saddened expression.
"Cassidy, we haven't talked about this at all." She began. I knew what she was on about. She was talking about this whole thing. I sat up straight and nodded as we began to talk about the one thing she never told me. This is the first time I've actually sat down with my mom in three years; since my dad walked out. I've basically lived with Sarah since. Her parents are cool, they let me stay over. I exhaled a deep breath.
"You wanna know what we're going to do, right?" I asked softly. She nodded slightly. I began to tell her my life plan. I know she's going to be pissed but I don't give a rat's ass; I am who I am. I bit my lower lip and sighed. I knew about the pact we made but I can’t be a mother. I see how hard it is and I can’t do that to my baby. She deserves better.
"Ray and I talked and we're putting her up for adoption. We want her to have a better life then having two teen parents." I uttered softly, my voice musty and raw. My mom smiled and for a split second I saw it, something I've never seen in her eyes before; pride. She was proud of me. I sucked in a deep breath.
"But we want to be a part of her life too." I added sweetly.

Ray and I sat in the adoption agency surrounded by pictures of happy and healthy families. I sat in a pair of light wash jeans and a chocolate brown tee shirt. My blonde hair pinned up loosely. I felt hungry, tired, and sore and I needed to pee for the eighth time since I woke up two hours ago. Ray looked worried and slightly nervous. My hunger drowned out emotions. I sighed and smiled as a middle aged lady with fluffy blonde hair and big brown eyes walked in with a thick book. She sat down behind the desk and smiled at us.
"Alrighty. I'm Kathy; you must be Cassidy and Ray." She greeted with a sweet smile. I couldn't help but smile back.
"So why are you two here today?" She asked softly clapping her hands together. I felt good for what we were doing. I mean I’m the youngest of the group. I can’t be a mother while trying to be a tour manager. I sucked in a deep seeping breath of air.
“We’re having a baby and we want to put her up for adoption….-But we want to see her and be a part of her life too” Ray cut me off with a sweet, smart guy smile. Kathy nodded and smiled at us.
“You two are doing a good thing.” She announced while digging through a huge book of pictures and profiles.
“What kind of household do you want her to be in?” Kathy questioned nicely. I looked at Ray and smiled.
“Stable, working dad, stay at home mom. Excellent income.” I announced a list of things we want out daughter to have. Kathy smiled widely and handed Ray the binder.
“You two look at these couples and choose one then call me.” She instructed.

I sat in the living room with Ray beside me. We scanned through the book nervously. We had only two weeks to find a couple and choosing one is so hard, they’re either too perfect or not what we’re looking for. I watched as Ray’s deep brown eyes lit up.
“I found them!” He cheered happily waving for me to crawl over to him. My eyes lit up and widened as I saw them. Two people, the lady who looked to be mid-twenties with long blond hair and bright blue eyes. Then the guy looked early thirties with short brown hair and brown eyes. They lived in a huge house with a small dog, they liked sports. The guy, James worked as a CEO at a major computer company. Lily, the lady was working as a secretary until she quite to become a stay at home mother. They tried everything to have kids but can’t. Great Scot! I think we found them!

Ray and I sat in the back seat of the car while Kathy drove us up the winding paths that led up to the big house on top of the hill. My nerves were electric. We were finally meeting them. I smiled as the blonde lady greeted us at the front door. She was tall and slender.
“Hello, I’m Lily. You must be Cassidy and Ray.”
-present day-
From those moments I knew Bethany was in good hands. They’re good people that deserve a child. Lily told me I was her gift from God. I was able to do something she couldn’t. Lily and James came into the hospital room with flowers and balloons. Everyone knows we’re putting her up for adoption but they’ve never met the parents. Kat’s eyes widened with glee. Ray shook James’ hand while I hugged Lily. Frank was out cold in the chair. Lily looked at Kat and Frank worriedly.
“Lily, this is my bestest friend in the whole wide world Kat, and the slumbering princess is her fiancé Frank.” I introduced sweetly. Lily went over and hugged Kat nicely. Kat giggled and looked at me.
“Kat, this is Lily and James. Bethany’s adoptive parents.” Ray added. James looked down at me with sparkling eyes.
“How far along are you?” He questioned with sweet intentions. I thought for a moment and grinned.
“They checked me twenty minutes ago and I was about seven centimetres along.” I replied. This was going to be fun.
