Chapter 14-Anna's POV
My chair tips from me moving it because of how shocked I am. Fairy? i ask myself as Charles picks me up and the chair. he does that a lot lately. well I've only know him for a week. he was out in the hospital for 5 days. yup it's crazy. That ground must've been pretty hard.
"You were supposed to know last week but you had an, incident." the queen said, glancing at Charles. "not to be disrespectful, but I was thrown through a portal and landed on hard concrete on MY- on my head." he almost lost his temper there, which it is disrespectful to yell at any kind of royalty. especially to a queen or king.
"Well I apologize for that. but that's our fastest way of transportation. now let's continue with explaining." the queen stated, standing up to go to one of the bookshelf's. She looked through it, with her hand up, until she found a book and pulled it back. like in those kind of movies with the secret laboratory. but this was no lab. it was what looked like a sitting room with tea and biscuits and another bookshelf with really, REALLY old books.
Just as we were about to sit down a bell rang. "Ah. that would be the dinner bell. please meet me in my study tomorrow morning, I'll send Clarence, and as for right now please join me for dinner with all the fairies of the royal family. I'll have Clarence introduce you to everyone, he's my nephew." the queen said happily, getting up from the soft chair she had only moments ago settled down in. we quickly followed her brisk steps back to her study and out the door.
I was beyond baffled. one thing: Fairy? another: dinner bell? and lastly: Royal family? how many fairies are there? and how am I a fairy? so many questions and still I have no answer for any over them.
I let out an exasperated sigh getting the attention of Charles. he gave me a questioning look but as soon as he saw my face he chuckled lightly, obviously amused. then he surprised me by wrapping his arm around my shoulder giving me a side hug that only lasted a moment. I couldn't deny the sparks that I felt the instant his hand touched my skin. I small smile appeared on my face at that thought.
