Chapter 33- Clarence's POV
The darkness consumed me. I felt like I was floating in nothingness. the world and all of its problems had left my mind. I was free of society, of life, of my mother and siste- wait a second I don't have a-
That's when it all comes rushing back, like I just got hit with a wrecking ball. I DO have a sister! AND a mother! I thought I was an orphan that the queen took in! my whole life has turned upside down!
I slowly feel myself coming back... I open my eyes ever so slowly, to see a worried looking Anna staring her ocean blue eyes at me. I see her face visibly light up at the sight of me awake.
She moves away from the bed because she sees me try to sit up. I do but not without my hand contacting with my head at the sudden pain I feel in my temples.
"Oh! here..." Anna hands me some ice. "uhhh...thanks?" it comes out as a question, even though I didn't mean for it to come out like that. her smile falters a little at that. I give her an apologetic look. she waves it off and grabs my tray of food to set on my bedside table, and I see someone sleeping in the chair.
I point to whoever it is, making sure Anna sees me. she looks confused until she realizes what I'm pointing at. "oh. that's just Mariah being exhausted. she's been her 24/7 for these past 3 weeks-" I don't let her finish by yelling "3 WEEKS!! that's how long I've been unconscious!?! it only felt like seconds..." I whisper that last part, but Anna hears me anyways.
"It normally only does, at least that's what the nurse said, anyways I could never credit for how in ship-shape this place is. that'd be Mariah's doing. anyways you should get some res-" she stops mid word as the door opens to reveal Charles.
"Hey! your finally awake! hey beautiful." he comes up and gives my siste- Anna a kiss. "wait, wait, wait, wait..hold up when did this happen?!" I ask, looking from Anna to Charles and back again.
"Uhhh, wellll..." she trails off giving Charles a loving look, and he smiles a genuine smile.
I lay back down, suddenly feeling light headed again...
