Chapter 29- Anna's POV
We make it to the ceremonial hall just in time. I look around the room trying to find some seats, when I see Charles waving me over. he sits next to Clarence with two open seats next to him. I wave back and grab Mariah.
The ceremony isn't much of a 'ceremony' at all. All that happens is that the queen goes through all 20-some 'fairies in training'. she takes them to another room, we don't know what it's for or what happens in there.
All we know is that we go through a test and the queen decides where we will give our most help in the faerie community.
It feels like hours have passed before someone I know gets called up. the queen comes out and announces the name. "Charles Whitewood!" he stands up and follows the queen.
Clarence comes soon after him then Mariah goes. which leaves me to wait by myself. then finally the queen calls me up. "Annabelle Meadows!" I stand up, taken aback, I didn't even know I had a last name. plus it's the same last name as Clarence!
I don't have time to dwell on that thought because I needed to pass this test. I follow the queen into the testing room.
