a trip back home that took a turn for the worst-Luke

Luke was beyond excited to see his girlfriend, Lilly. He and the lads finally had a little break from touring, and he had been on the first plane to Sydney so he could surprise her. First though, he had gone home with his mom to say hi. After that, he drove to his girlfriend's house. He anxiously rung the doorbell, hoping she was home. After two minutes the door swung open.

"Luke?" Lilly hoarsely gasped "But,"

"I came here to surprise you Lilly!" He grinned "I figured we could have some fun before I go on tour again."

Lilly gave a small smile "Luke that's really sweet but I'm sick."

Luke frowned "Babe, you should've told me. I'd have brought medicine."

"You surprised me, remember?" Lilly laughed

"Oh, right."

"It's just a cold though. Really, my dads just overreacting a little. He almost didn't even go to work today."

"Well, I'll take care of you." Luke decides "Dr. Luke is here."

"Are you sure Lukey? You don't have to."

"I want to." Luke nods, picking Lilly up and shutting the door "Now let's get you to bed missy."

"Luke put me down!" Lilly screeched in surprise, before going into a coughing fit

"Woah, you okay?" Luke set Lilly on her feet right away, feeling guilty "I didn't mean to."

"No, you didn't do anything. I'm fine." Lilly smiles

"Good." Luke still leads her to her room, and tucks her into the double bed. "Now have you had any medicine love?"

"I told you it was just a cold." Lilly rolls her eyes, but can't keep a smile off her face.

"Well medicine makes you get better faster. I'll be back in a minute." Luke says, kissing her forehead and walking out of the room. This left Lilly thinking how lucky she truly was. Especially when Luke jogged back in, arms full of assorted medicines. As he set them on her bedside table, Lilly couldn't believe her eyes.

"What'd you do?" She giggles "Raid my medicine cabinet, and empty it?"

Luke gave her a cheeky grin "Only slightly. Now, DayQuil or Tylenol?"

"Do I have to?"

"Yes."

"Okay. DayQuil please." Luke poured the medicine into the measuring cup, then gave it to her. Lilly grimaced at the taste.

"Here." Luke handed her a water bottle "That stuff always makes me thirsty. Now let me take your temperature."

It's only a hundred, one little degree over normal, but it's enough to make Luke worried. And count down until his girl feels better. He leaves again, quickly making popcorn and going back upstairs. He can tell Lilly's somewhat miserable, and hates every second of it.

"My poor princess." He mutters, slipping into bed with her. He wraps and arm around her, and hands her the tv remote along with the popcorn. "What do you want to watch, love? It can be anything, I promise I won't complain."

"Can we put on frozen?"

"Sure." Luke grins. And he's never been so happy to watch a Disney movie in his life. Twenty minutes In, Lilly starts coughing again.
