Cracks

Never have we looked
Eye to eye
As almost I couldn't
Be the one to lie
But I have to tell you
That every step I take
On every sidewalk
There is a break
A crack at the end
The separates us from seeing
The life that holds
Our very true beings
And then you trip
And fall right hard on your face
Feelings you hide
Trying to leave no trace
I have to glue the sidewalk back
I have to be able to walk with pride
Because I need to feel happy
I need to feel alive
