I've been staring at my reflection for quite some time now
Each bone and detail shimmering in the water
Every shallow breath is hollow and deep
My hand to my cheek, caressing my jaw
I stop and I stare
The bottom of the pool is you, the perfect you, the real you
And each time I stick my hand into the water, you shift
Shift into something else
You are a beast, you cruel monster
Shifting forms, making me frustrated
How come I know that I'll never reach you, never touch you, never hold you
I know, even if I dive deep, I will not reach you
You are trapped in your own little reflected world
And I am forever stuck in mine
