{Prince Harry's POV}

I couldn't focus on the walk through. I wanted to talk to that maiden. There is no way she could have caused so much trouble. She was just a girl. The way those guards were treating her made me feel sick. I don't care who she was she didn't deserve such abuse. But why was she so stubborn? All she had to do was give us her name? She struck me with such wonder. She seemed vunerable yet fearless. But who wouldn't feel vulnerable when they were being assulted by a guard? In my opinion I felt like that was wrong. Maybe Dexter was too hard on her. What proof did we have of these situations? We only went by the word of those men.

My thoughts were interrupted as we entered another part of Lathance. People cheered and threw flowers at me. I tried to hold a smile but I truly hated this. Parading around acting as if I actually wanted to be here.

"My prince!"

"Prince Harry!"

"We love you!"

"Marry me!"

People constantly cheered. But why? I've done nothing but hold a title over them. There was no reason to praise me. I'm not my father.

"Cheer up sire. Soon this will all be yours." Dexter smiled.

I said nothing to him and instead, slightly rolled my eyes playing it off as if I was looking at more commoners. I didn't understand why, but I was mad at him for sending that girl away. I didn't know if I was drawn to her, or the mystery she contained. Oh, but I was certainly drawn.

{Elle's POV}

I sat on the dirt filled floor of this cage wondering how I got here. Tears started to fall off of my face and onto my bleeding leg.

"You said to rebel against him. . Look where it got me." I cried, verbally cursing my mother. "You gave me no directions as to how I would do it. . ." Anger and confusion was all I could feel. "Is this what you wanted?" I whispered.

My head shot up as I heard keys jingling against the door that seperated the dungeon from the outside world. I wiped my tears not showing who ever it was my state of brokeness. Two knights walked in and were followed by the king himself. He looked older and more dismal since I last seen him. He still wore that grossly large cape. The only thing missing was the crown. Two other knights entered behind him. It made sense to have protection. Especially from people like myself. The two servants pulled his cape off and set it on the hook by the door.

"Bow to your king." One of the front knights demanded.

I stayed sat in my place.

He glared and started unlocking the bars that kept me inside. I slowly scooted back against the wall preparing myself for more pain.

"No!" The king said. The knight stopped. My heart rate slowed. I looked at the king who studied me. He slowly walked closer to me but stopped at the bars.

"My lord, I advise you to step back. She's a fierce one." The knight advised.

"You look familiar child?" The king said cocking his head and grabbing onto the cold round bars. "Have we met before?"

"We have never met before. I reckon I would remember seeing the face of a monster!" I spat. Which wasn't a lie. I never met the king. Just seen him and I wasn't quite ready to remind him of the day he slaughtered my parents and those people.

"You better watch your tone when speaking to your king!" The farthest knight shouted. I will never understand why royalty have people speak for them. Do their voices not work?
