{Elle's POV}
Today is the day. I'm finally getting out of here. I sat in this cell being unable to move. My leg had gotten worse due the freezing weather at night. I excused that because my excitement to get out of here was too great. These people treated me horribly. They would starve me, and then when they felt like feeding me, they gave me a thin slice of stale bread and porridge that had bugs crawling in it. I nibbled on the bread, but skipped the porridge all together.
My thoughts were haulted when I heard the door being unlocked again. My anxiety grew because I never knew who it would be. It was always someone different. But everytime I heard the keys, I hoped the person on the other side of the door would be Harry. He was the only pleasant part of this whole situation and when I saw him, everything was calm.
To my disappointment, it wasn't Harry. It was one of the kings men. He rushed over to my cell and unlocked it. "I don't know why, but the king is letting you go." He said lifting me to my feet and dragging me outside. I reckon he knew of my condition by the way he held onto me. Before I knew it I was thrown into a smaller cage, that was hooked to the saddle of a horse.
I sat there waiting to get to wherever he was taking me. I laid my head between two bars and soaked in the sunlight. I didn't get much of it in the cell back at the dungeon. I realised I took the sun and it's warmth for granted. The ride to our destination was short and uncomfortable. The bars to the cage had indented their mark on my back due to my leaning on them. We arrived shortly after departing. We honestly could have walked here. It would have taken a bit longer, but it could have been done. I opened my eyes to see the giant castle. I never knew it was this big. I only admired it from afar.
"W-What am I doing here?" I asked as he unlocked the cage.
"The king ordered that I bring you here." He answered. "I don't know what for so don't ask why." He spat answering my next question.
He just walked with his hand holding my arm as I limped in the direction he was taking me. When we arrived to the front of the castle, he dropped me. I cursed the day he was born as I tried to rise to my feet. He waved his hand to the watch tower and the gate was lifted. It was stuggle standing up, but it meant my freedom, and I was not going to mess about.
Once the gate was lifted, he pulled me into the castle. Everything was massive. The doors, the portraits, the throne. We stood in a large empty area, and in the front of the room were the chairs of the throne. Two small ones, and one large. The larger one sat in the middle.
Trumpets sounded and after an announcer began to. . Well, announce. "Now entering his majesty King Jack!"
The guard bowed and pulled me down with him. Instead of a proper curtzy, I fell to the floor with my legs sat crisscrossed. The guard cursed and lifted me back up. "You're going to stop playing games girl." He whispered through gritted teeth.
"I only play enjoyable games mate, and this. . is not one of them." I sassed back.
The king took a seat in the largest chair. "If it isn't nameless thief" he smirked. It wasn't hard to tell where Harry got his smirk from after that.
"What am I doing here?" I asked.
"Well if I'm going to free you, I must set some rules." He answered.
"As if you don't have enough already." I mumbled.
"Silence!" He demanded. That word started to make me crazy. "You must want to know why I'm letting you go?" He asked.
"No." I answered.
I could tell I irritated him. It brought me pleasure. He stood up from his chair and stepped down to me. Looking into my eyes.
"I'm letting you go because there was no physical evidence of the accusation against you. Although, I suggest you watch your tone or else I can put you back into the cell! Would you like that?" He asked breathing down my neck.
I took deep breath. "No."
"Don't forget what I told you. I won't kill you just yet. But keep in mind that if I truly wanted to, I could."
"Believe me, I know." I rolled my eyes.
He squinted his eyes and smiled. "Your face, your attitude. It reminds me of someone. But this person is long gone so it can't be. ."
I clenched my jaw. He must be talking about one of my parents. He had no remorse for killing them and it bugged me. "Let me guess, you're the reason for this person's passing."
He laughed. "You catch on quickly. I reckon you know that you being just like this person could mean your death as well."
"Of course, because if something doesn't fit in your perfect picture you get rid of it." I spat hinting to magic and my parents.
"Precisely, and you're not exactly fitting." He replied putting emphasis on the -ing.
"Then what exactly are you waiting for?" I asked in a mocking tone.
"That is for me to know, and for you to possibly find out." He smiled, which was most unfriendly. "You are not to cause any more problems in my kingdom. If there is one small complaint about you, I will find you, and you will be erased from my, as you call it, perfect picture." He promised.
"Well then lets hope for the best, yes?" I smiled.
"I'm sure we both have different definitions of what 'best' is." He said sitting back in that large chair.
"Good day, your majesty." I curtzied. I made sure the sarcasm was noticed.
"Get her out of my sight!" He ordered. The guard obeyed, and shoved me along. There was no need for him to be so forceful. I turned around and glared at him demanding he stop.
"I can walk on my own!" I said as we walked out the castle doors. It was a struggle but I limped all the way back to the cage. I was about to get in when I heard someone shout.
"Guard! Wait!" It was Harry. He was running towards us with a sword wrapped around his waist.
He walked passed me and showed a slight smile. He began to speak to the guard. Then after they were done talking, the guard walked away.
I held my hand over my eyes to shadow them from the sun. "What was that about?"
