Long Chapter

{Elle's POV}

We spent the rest of the day in the market. I was beyond bored, but Harry wanted to finish looking around. To substitute my boredom and raise my anxiety, I looked around for the man continuously. I wanted to avoid having a run-in with him.

Peter came and went as he pleased. I guess he wanted to stay away from Harry as much as possible. One thing to know about Peter is that he is not a very trusting person. It takes him a while to be comfortable around someone. He even had his doubts about me at first. Although it didn't take him long to get used to me. I knew he eventually would warm up to Harry being around.

Harry and I continued our walk around the market. Other than the girls that came up to him earlier, no one noticed him. I was suprised guards hadn't stopped me yet. I wasn't hiding under my cloak or anything. It was nice being amoungst people out in the open.

But of course, I spoke too soon...

"Hey! You girl! You're the one that stole me bread! Get back here!" The baker shouted by his door.

I didn't hesitate to grab Harry's hand and run. I'm not going back to that dungeon and I am never going to let them catch me again. The bread owner called for some guards and they immediately ran after us. Like before, there were a lot of turns. Harry suprisingly kept up with me. I still hadn't let go of his hand for a reason unknown to me. I guess I just didn't want to let go. You can imagine how much more difficult it was to run when your hand is occupied but at that moment I didn't really care to think about it.

Whilst we ran, Harry laughed like a little girl. I didn't know what was so funny but I started to laugh too. My amusement died when I noticed the guards catching up to us. We took even more turns trying to lose them. I quickly noticed a narrow opening between two shops. I prayed it was enough room for Harry and I to hide in. I pulled him over there and thanked the heavens above that we both fit. Only we fit in the most unusual way. Harry and I were pressed together chest to chest. Our backs were against the wall. His face extremely close to mine. He looked at me and still had an amusing smile.

"So the stealing accusation was true?"

"I was hungry and had no money." I explained.

He chuckled and I looked for a clear sign. When I saw one I removed myself first then Harry followed. There were a few people walking around and none had noticed Harry or me. We walked to try and find Peter so we could leave but Harry noticed the guards were making their way towards us.

I went into a state of panic. Before I knew what to do Harry pushed me against the wall and towered over me. One hand sat against the wall right next to my head, and his other hand grabbed my waist.

"What are you doing?" I asked with a racing heart.

"Play along." He whispered.

My heart sunk to my feet and my legs went weak when Harry brought his face down to mine. I was realived that he didn't actually kiss me. Instead his forehead was against mine. My hands stayed on the wall because of the shock that took over me.

"Make it believable." He whispered.

I didn't know what to do in these type of situations. I barely knew how to communicate with other human beings until Peter. I trailed my hands up to his hair. I lightly pulled on the curls at the back of his head. My whole body was trembling. My eyes stayed focused on his as he moved his head around. He smiled when looked at me.

"Stop shaking." He snickered.

I let out a weak laugh and tried to get control back into my body. His breathing was slow whilst mine was fast.
