The Mind

Prologue

It started when Killian Jones needed some extra money. Growing so desperate, he signed up to be a test subject for a type of serum that would enhance the ability of the mind. The serum had been tested many times on mice, but all it needed was a willing human test subject. This serum would make someone able to have telekinetic and mind reading powers. You'd think that people would be busting down doors, climbing over each other to try to get some of this serum, right?

Wrong.

Actually, people tried to stay away from it. The scientist who developed the serum, Dr. Howard Jekyll was only starting the serum. It wasn't proven to work, and there could be many side effects. But, one brave soul stepped up to the test.

And it worked.

Once Jekyll knew of the power that he had created, his true intentions had been revealed. He wanted to use Killian as some kind of enforcer. So Jekyll could rule over Springtide City with no one in the way to stop him, but Killian refused and escaped, snatching some very important notes on his way out. He worked to control his new abilities and found some people that could help him do just that.

Dr. Victor Whale, a scientist trying to discover how to bring life back to the dead took Killian in. A fellow scientist, Dr. Regina Mills worked with Dr. Whale in the lab, also agreed to take on the case. The two worked together to try to figure out Killian's abilities and see what kind of damage had been done. They found that the serum had done exactly what it said it would do. It would give Killian powers to move things with his mind. 

Killian grew up reading comic books and wishing to be a superhero. Hearing that he had physic abilities was the perfect way to do that. He just needed some practice first.

But that was three years ago, and Killian had been saving Springtide City from any disaster that seemed to arise for the past two years. His life was far from perfect. He worked to save the day every time, using his mind abilities and making a superhero name for himself.

The Mind

He wore a shiny silver and white suit that had small cameras built into it and an earpiece that allowed him to talk with Victor and Regina from anywhere throughout the city. His superhero life cut into his personal life a lot. That's why he had worked to be his own boss. He would disappear and reappear as much as he needed to. He was happy saving people. He always wanted to be a real superhero, and now, he was able to fulfill those dreams.

Springtide City had been his home throughout his entire life. He thought that becoming a superhero would be a good way to give back to the city and all the people in it.

Killian just didn't expect a new arrival in the city would have him changing everything that he had worked so hard to build.
