"Do what?" Killian asked. "I'll do whatever you want, just don't hurt her."

"Oh please. You just want me to think that what you say is the truth." Emma started struggling against the man's grip and Killian squirmed.

"You wouldn't hurt your own daughter now, would you?"

"Please," Jekyll scoffed. "Of course I wouldn't." He threw her on the ground and Emma coughed as the air rushed into her lungs. "Not in the physical being that is. You see, she needs to know what pain is. And that will give her the proper motivation to let the darkness out." Jekyll opened his watch and a laser beam shot out, hitting Killian in the shoulder.

"Stop!" Emma yelled, but Jekyll kicked Emma in the stomach and she was knocked backwards.

"That's it!" Killian yelled. He stood up straighter and Jekyll was thrown into a cement pillar so forcefully, it broke and crumbled. "I'm so sick of you ruining my life! Hurting the people I love!" Jekyll was raised into the air and forcefully fell into the cement ground, again cracking because of how hard he was slammed into it.

"I'm tired of you disrespecting me!" Jekyll choked out, coughing and spitting up blood. "I give you all this power and you use it for good. The dark side is so much more fun."

"Didn't you know? Good always wins."

"Except when it doesn't." Jekyll raised up a gun, but instead of bullets, a sharp shard of metal flew into Killian's stomach. It was too small to be anything like a dagger, but big enough to cause some damage.

"No!" Emma yelled, tears already streaming down her face.

Jekyll scrambled to Emma and held her in his arms. But it was anything but comforting. He restricted her so she couldn't get up and run to Killian. "Let's watch him die together, now shall we?"

"Emma, I love you," Killian choked out in between gasps of breath. "All I wanted was to be the perfect man for you. But, I can't be. You can love again."

"Don't say that!" She sobbed. "I lo-" She couldn't continue her sentence because Jekyll had clamped his hand over her mouth.

"Duck!" Killian suddenly yelled. Emma did her best to duck and didn't know what had happened until the arms around her went limp. A warm liquid splattering on her arms. She opened her eyes and sat up, looking behind her to see blood pouring out of a deep cut. A piece of metal sticking out of his throat. She looked over to see the metal piece that had been in Killian's stomach was now gone and blood was pouring out of the wound.

She crawled over to him and propped his head up in her lap. She brushed her hand over his stubble, feeling it scratch her skin. "What did you do?" She asked softly.

"Had... To... Save you," he whispered.

"Shh, shh, shh, don't speak. Keep your energy." She leaned her forehead on his and listened to his shallow breaths. "You aren't allowed to leave me. You can't leave me and this baby alone. Do you hear me? You promised me that you were a survivor. Now survive, damnit! I won't lose my happy ending either!"

"I love you."

"You keep your fucking eyes open!" She yelled. "You're going to be okay."

Suddenly, the doors opened and Regina and Victor came running down. "We have to get him upstairs!" Victor yelled. Him and Regina managed to get Killian up off the ground. Things were moving in slow motion for Emma as the scientists got Killian up off the floor and into the infirmary. Regina helped Emma up off the floor and gave her a change of clothes, then directed her to what appeared to be a guest bedroom that had a shower. Emma scrubbed down and washed her hair as fast as she could, then finding her way back to the infirmary. "I invented the machine two years ago and have been dying to test it," Victor explained as Emma walked into the room. They stood behind a glass wall and watched as the laser beams worked on Killian's body. Blood was flushed through small tubes and into his body. "The idiot insisted on giving his own blood in case something like this happened. It turns out he was really smart after all."

"Is he going to be okay?" Emma asked.

"Absolutely. If the machine works as it should."

"What?" She screamed.

Regina put her hands on Emma's shoulders and gave her a reassuring look. "He'll be fine. I promise."

Emma nodded and sat down. Three hours later, Victor and Regina pulled Killian out of the machine and laid him down on a hospital bed in a recovery room that mimicked a hospital room almost to a tee. It was probably the one she had been in when she was first kidnapped by Jekyll. "He's going to be on a lot of painkillers. He will be pretty dazed for a few hours. He was struck just below his heart. He lost a lot of blood. He is very lucky to be alive."

Emma nodded again and stood up. She hugged Victor tightly. "Thank you for helping him."

He nodded. "He's my friend. There isn't anything I wouldn't do for him."

She sat down in a chair next to Killian's bed and grabbed onto his hand, then waited for him to wake up.

-----

She felt his hand squeeze hers and she looked up and watched as he opened his eyes. He blinked a few times before an easy smile crossed his lips. "Wow, I have never seen a more beautiful woman."

She giggled. "Good morning, Killian."

"You should know that you are a very beautiful nurse, love," he slurred, making her laugh even more. "You have a gorgeous laugh and smile."

"I'm not a nurse, Killian. I'm your girlfriend."

"Really?" His voice cracked as he picked his head up to get a better look at her. "Damn. How? No, no, no. I don't care how." It was silent for a moment before he said, "damn. I guess I have to marry you."

Her jaw dropped open but she quickly calmed herself. She grabbed her phone and switched it to video mode and pressed record. "Say that again, Killian."

"Say what? That I have to marry you? Hell yeah I will!" He stared into the camera lens, getting really close to it. "I want to marry this woman."

"And I will say yes," she said then shut the camera off. She pushed Killian back down on the pillows and rubbed her thumb on his forehead. The look he had on his face was absolutely adorable. His eyes were glossy as he stared up at her. His Adam's apple bobbing up and down as he swallowed nervously. "I'm going to get someone. Stay here," she whispered, kissing the tip of his nose.

"Yes, ma'am," she heard him whisper as she left the room to get either Regina or Victor.
