Two Days Later...

Two days later, Killian helped Emma back to his house. He took her to her bedroom- his bedroom. She had protested before about how she didn't want to be a burden because she was taking his space, but Killian said that he wanted her to be safe and comfortable. Emma appreciated it. She definitely felt safe.

"What was it like?" She asked as he laid her down on the bed.

"What was what like?" He asked, moving the blankets over her legs.

"You turning into The Mind. What was it like?"

"Well, at first, there was a lot of pain as the serum went into me. Then, it felt like everything was more advanced. Things that I had never seen or noticed before was just there."

"What else can you do?"

He smirked and held out his hand. A pencil floated from the desk and into his hand. "That's one thing."

A wide smile grew on her face. "Do something else!" Things started levitating in the air and flying around the room overhead. "Wow."

Killian put the things down to their rightful places. "On our date when the pictures clapped against the wall, it was right after I got an enhancement of my powers. I didn't have control over my powers."

"And that made everything go haywire."

"Yeah. But, I promise that I will do everything I can to protect you from anything and everything." He stood up and kissed Emma's forehead. "Can I get you anything?"

She smiled and shook her head. "No, I'm good," she told him.

"Okay." He went over to the closet and grabbed a blanket and pillow. "I will be right out there in the living room if you need me."

"No, wait, Killian?" He turned around to her and cocked his eyebrow. "Stay in here with me."

"Oh, love, I don't think that would be a good idea. You're hurt-"

"And what better what for you to help me if you are right where I can get you?"

He chuckled, "alright. But all we will do is sleep, Swan."

"I wouldn't think of doing anything else. Especially with an ugly man such as yourself," she said with as much sarcasm as she could muster.

He smiled and rolled his eyes at her. "You are so bloody adorable."

"I try."

"Do you need anything while I am up? I can get you something to drink or something to eat if you're hungry."

"Water please?"

He nodded, "I'll be right back."

Emma sighed and looked up at the ceiling which was suddenly more interesting than anything in the room. She could feel sleep calling for her. Her eyes were starting to droop. Killian came back in and handed her the water. She took a sip then placed the glass on the nightstand.

"Don't you have work today?" She asked him.

"I only have work if I decide to come in. My employees work very hard."

"No, not the boat rental. Saving the city."

"Oh. No. I'm taking the day off to take care of you."

"Oh, Killian, I don't want you to do that. I'll be fine on my own for a little while."

"No. You need me more right now. It's alright. I like spending time with my girlfriend anyway." He crawled into bed with her and pulled the blankets up over her. "If you need anything, don't hesitate to wake me up, okay?"

She nodded. "Kiss?"

He laughed and leaned up to kiss her sweetly. "Good night, my love."

"Night, Killian." Emma reached down under the blankets to find his hand. Once she did, she squeezed it tightly. He squeezed it back and she was able to fall asleep.

"Killian, no, you don't want to do this," Emma said, holding her hand up to show that she wasn't a threat.

"Yes I do," he said in a broken sob. "I have to do this." There was a gun pointed at her head, but Emma tried everything she could to remain calm. "You're a waste of space. A nuisance. To think that I actually loved you. I should know my own mind, but instead, I know everyone else's far too well."

"Killian! Stop! I love you! You just think that what you are saying is true, but it's not!"

"No, Swan, I do know. I've been holding all of this in for way too long," Killian cocked the gun and Emma swallowed nervously.

"Please, Killian, don't do this. I love you. I always have. Ever since the day that you saved me."

He chuckled darkly. "Saved you. It seems like all I'm doing lately is saving you. What? Can't the little orphan save herself? She couldn't even save the love of her life. He died in a hospital bed." Flashes of Neal in the hospital bed and her sitting right next to him flooded her mind. Killian's laugh broke her out of her trance. "The only difference between you and him is the fact that you are going to die here and no one you love will be with you."

"Emma, wake up!" Emma woke with a start. She opened her eyes and darted them across the room, taking in all of her surroundings. She was in Killian's bedroom. He was right beside her, looking at her with concern. "Are you alright, love?" He asked, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear.

She shook her head. Her back prevented her from moving much, but she pulled on his collar to come to her. "I had a nightmare," she whispered in his ear as she buried her head in his neck. "You turned evil and were going to shoot me."

"Love, nothing is going to happen to me or you. We are safe. Besides, it's going to take a lot for someone to hack into my mind. It's so advanced." He kissed the top of her head. "I promise I won't let you get hurt."

"I don't care about me. I care about you!"

"I won't get hurt either. Nothing is going to keep me apart from you. I can promise you that," he said, kissing her deeply and laying back down. Emma couldn't cuddle up to him but Killian kept his arm on her stomach. Her hand laid on top of his, ensuring he was still there, and that was how they both fell asleep.
