"Now that was amazing," Killian said as he walked back into the lab. Victor and Regina where sitting at the computers, typing in information. "I think my favorite crimes are the robberies. Messing with the bad guy while getting everyone out of there, that's the best."
"Only you would like a crime," Regina muttered under her breath.
"Oh lighten up, Regina. If you didn't have a life, you'd find crime exciting too," Victor said, laughing.
"I don't find it exciting, I just like the rush," Killian said.
"Same thing," Regina said. She pushed her hair back behind her ear and took off her lab coat. "I have a friend coming in from Florida, so I have to leave a little early to meet her at The Coffee Cup. So, I have to go."
"Wait, friend? Regina Mills has friends?" Killian asked sarcastically. He saw Regina's glare and he stopped laughing. "Who's your friend?"
"Oh no, I'm not telling you. I know exactly what you want to do. You want to meet her then get into her pants like all of your other one night stands."
"Well, I have one night stands with people I know there's a rare chance of seeing again. If she's your friend, she's probably going to be here all the time. I can't exactly hook up with her for one night when I know I'm going to see her the next day, can I?"
Regina sighed. "No, I guess not. Let's just go."
Killian pumped his fists into the air. "Yes! Let me change first." He grabbed the pile of clothes that were neatly folded on the table and went into the next room. A few seconds later, he came out holding the suit. He walked over to the stand and draped it over, then used his telekinetic power to place it on accordingly. "You ready?" He asked as he turned to Regina.
"Been ready, Jones."
The two adults walked outside and to Regina's car, then they drove to their favorite coffee place in the whole city. The Coffee Cup was exactly how it sounded. The place served coffee in cute mugs of different sizes, shapes, and many patterns. The to go cups were always decorated in certain colors too, along with the name of the coffee place on the front. Once they got to the coffee house, Killian and Regina went in and ordered coffee for themselves, and one for her friend. According to Regina, Emma hadn't arrived yet. Killian eagerly watched the door, even though he had no idea who he was looking for. When a certain blonde walked into the building, he tensed up at the sight of her. She was gorgeous. And the best part? She was walking his way.
"Emma, it's nice to see you again!" Regina exclaimed with a smile. She stood up and hugged the blonde. They quickly pulled away. "This is my coworker, Killian Jones.
"Emma Swan," the blonde said, holding out her hand for Killian to shake.
He smirked at her and surprised her by placing a kiss to her knuckles instead of shaking her hand. "What a beautiful name for a beautiful girl," he flirted, making Emma blush.
Regina rolled her eyes. "This one is nothing but trouble. Stay away from him, Emma," she warned.
"I don't know. I'm pretty good at getting out of trouble as much as I am getting into it." Killian smirked and took a sip of his coffee. "So, Emma. How long are you going to be staying in Springtide City?"
"I was actually planning on moving here. Something here just calls to me," Emma explained. She took a sip of her coffee and hummed at the taste. "And I could move here just for the coffee alone."
"I assure you it is a safe city," Killian said with a smile.
"Yeah. It will feel like home," Regina agreed. "Have you found a place yet?"
"Nope. I wanted to get a feel of the place first, and then start looking for houses. Maybe that would be better than just moving from a whole other state first."
"You mentioned you were going to stay for two weeks, but you never said your sleeping arrangements. How about you stay with me?" Regina suggested.
"Sounds perfect," Emma said with a smile. She glanced over at Killian. "What do you do for a living, Killian?"
"I'm a boating instructor actually. For my own business. I teach people how to sail and rent out boats or let them come to me. It's a very fun process, despite how it sounds."
"It smells like fish," Regina complained. "That's why I never visit him at work."
Emma kicked her friend under the table. "Sounds like fun. You'll have to take me one day." She gulped down the rest of her coffee. "I have to get to the hotel and check in, but it was really nice catching up with you, Regina. And it was really nice to meet you, Killian. I hope we can run into each other again."
"I think that would be wonderful. Maybe I can give you a tour around the city sometime?" Killian asked.
"I'd like that." Emma grabbed her wallet out of her pocket and threw down a ten dollar bill onto the table. "Thanks for the coffee." She waved goodbye to both of them and left the building.
"Why didn't you tell me your friend was so hot?" Killian asked.
"Because it didn't matter. You aren't hooking up with her. She's moving here because she just got out of a serious relationship. And if you do go out with her, she isn't some rag doll that can just be tossed around. She's a very guarded woman."
"How do you know so much about her?"
"I think I'd know my best friend," Regina argued. "Stay away from her. It will benefit you both. Trust me. This isn't a woman to be crossed."
"Much like you, I assume? You don't have to worry, Regina. I won't hurt her. Might you remember that I am not a man to be crossed either." The liquid in his coffee cup suddenly flew out of his cup and was hovering in the air. He watched as Regina tried to move to hide it, and chuckled before letting it fall back into the mug with a plop.
"The only way you are going to get to Emma is if it's over my dead body."
He held up his hands in surrender. "Fine. Have it your way. But if she asks me out first, I'm not saying no."
"I don't think she'll be asking you out."
He chuckled. "We'll just have to wait and see."
